From a fetishistic standpoint I find Femboy Dipper to be more fun than Genderbent Dipper. From a plot/character standpoint I think Dipper being a girl heavily affects their character arc as a big part of Dipper's whole thing is trying to be a manly man for respect and recognition, I feel like the show would be very different if Dipper was a girl. Would she have the angle of trying to be a woman in a generally male area or would it focus on maturity vs childlike innocence as she contrasts with Mabel directly as the sibling that want to do more of the adult stuff while Mabel is content doing the more kid oriented stuff.
