I liked the show til it got too political, like when mr garrison became donald trump. It was the part I got off.
>>151634597yeah i bet you get off to mr garrison all the time heh
>>151634597I got off around the second season of serialization, when it became clear it wasn't a one-off gag.
>>151634600That's what she said.>>151634635And they're still doing it
>>151634635>>151634733>second season of serialization, when it became clear it wasn't a one-off gagThey stopped doing it after a couple of seasons, but went back to it again with the new season.South Park has a real problem where they basically come up with 1 or 2 jokes and then just repeat it ad nauseam for the entire episode. This is made all the worse with serialization since now you have a same jokes being spread out for an entire season. Even with the Trump stuff it seems like they're really stretching to include him in EVERY episode no exceptions.A lot of the time it's low effort jokes that have already been done to death like this season when they made an episode about the "master debater" joke which is like boomer t-shirt joke tier of done to death. They really don't have much reason to act like they're so much superior to something like Family Guy.
>>151634739God, I hate how no matter how it gets worse, South Park will always be glazed
>>151634597I do feel 9 was the last great season with solid episodes. 10-13 still had great episodes but overall those seasons were meh
>>151634739manatees
I've watched the earlier seasons a lot as a kid. Watched multiple reruns of season 1 thru 9 on TV. Then really got into it in 2007 and I watched season 10 and then the new episodes starting season 11 onward as they were airing. I've rewatched all the early episodes many times, including one time with my gf back in ~2014 where we watched every season up to that point. South Park is great because the first seasons have so much unique and funny shit, even if a lot of episodes are hit or miss, they all have this crazy energy of two guys just making up a story with a good dose of comedy and satire. It's always fun to watch the new South Park episode as they air to see how they lampoon topical events and trends and I've been enjoying the show for just that in the past 10 years, but I wouldn't rewatch all these episodes. If I just got into the show right now, I wouldn't see the point in binge watching all the seasons. People are just attached to the show I guess.
>>151634597>I liked the show til it got too political, like when mr garrison became donald trump.South Park has always been political. "South Park Republican" was a term coined in the early 2000s to describe disaffected voters that were turned off both by the idiocy of the Left and by the religious conservatism of the Right at the time.Thing is Garrison as Trump was shit and dumb and part of the collective panty pissing that Hollyweird did when he won.Disliking a guy like Trump isn't out of character for Matt and Trey, but the TDS they developed isn't and shows just how far they've fallen from who they once were. They went full retard, and you never go full retard.
>>151634597>when mr garrison became donald trumpThat was funny though, and I commended them at the time for finding a different way to do Trump humor.
>>151635820The main issue with Trump-Garrison, is that they couldn't figure out if it was Garrison being Garrison, and what he would do if he was actually the preisdent, or if they wanted to make an accurate portrayal of Trump. So in the end we were left with this horrible mess of a caricature that fell flat all the time.
>>151635789They can recover, though.>>151635888Luckily, they replaced him...with something worse
