Good. Fuck mice. I have to deal with them all during winter. That's why I never sympathized with mice characters like Jerry, Feivel, miss Brisby etc.Kill em all I say.

But, I will also masturbate and cum on them when I get horny so they have to just deal with that.

These mice are comically small, just look at the size ratio of them and the bottleneck.
Also, how would they die? The fire was extinguished almost immediatelly and the fall was super short, smaller animals survive bigger falls.

it doesn't imply they died immediately, most likely they got trapped inside the bottle and will die of cold because they can't the door to close it

>Inspiration: Don Bluth
>still has more of a generic pseudo-anime look than a Bluth (or any western animation) look
Is anyone else concerned about how so many purportedly western animation studios can't make anything without some amount of anime influence anymore? I don't hate anime, it's just worrisome to see all other styles of animation and character design steadily getting phased out as "faux anime" becomes more of a global art style. It's sad to see western art losing its identity, and equally sad to see "anime" as a style and aesthetic devalued by non-JP bootlegs and knockoffs (this has been a concern since the French started leaning into it decades ago to be honest) How is Smiling Friends able to nail a "downstream of Don Bluth" design while people who specifically set out to make a spoof of Bluth can't?

Most of the animation in Smiling Friends is cheap, so they can spend money on expensive animation when they want to.

>Is anyone else concerned about how so many purportedly western animation studios can't make anything without some amount of anime influence anymore?
No? I find it normal because the japanese have been ahead in art and animation for almost 60 years. Yes, I hate faux anime like teen titans or castlevania but western animation would improve with more anime influence. I mean, we are still stuck in the 3/4 view while japanese animators mastered drawing perspective and large scale compositions
>How is Smiling Friends able to nail a "downstream of Don Bluth" design

The reality is Bluth's style had a lot of overlap with the stereotypical anime style and it'd take a lot of discipline to separate the two. I'm not saying it's the same, but the fact is American/European animation and Japanese animation have always influenced one another.

Plastic bottle. Mass-produced cheaply, with no incentive to recycle them. And the plastics megacorps got away with filling the world with their junk by lying about how easy it would be to recycle it all, pushing the blame from themselves onto "the public" all while knowing full well that they were talking nonsense.
I didn't save her because unfortunately it's very hard to track down and kill all the CEOs pulling this shit (and getting slap-on-the-wrist punishments when we find out). You can get maybe one, maybe, and then the megacorp-owned media landscape will lock down to let everyone know you're a monster, carefully glossing over just how much damage to our society and world is being done by greedy fucktards that don't care about anything but making lines go up.

Anyway, that's some damn nice animation! They've got some other cool stuff, I see. Hope they do something bigger than just ads and game promos. https://brikk.se/en/

While I think we should try our best not to personally litter the environment (like not throwing bottles out your car window), any human settlement of any kind is going to indirectly lead to the deaths of animals. I had a tiny decorative cauldron on my porch and a frog climbed inside one day, got stuck, and died. I've had many snakes and mice go inside my garage and get stuck then starve to death. One time I was driving and a fucking bird swerved into my car.

I don't know exactly about how it is in Norway, but here in Denmark, the pant system is pretty extensive, and it's extremely rare to see someone just throw a bottle or can in nature, because they're literally worth money.
I assume it's basically the same in Norway, and as such that this commercial is barking up the wrong tree.

Because the retarded bitch set up shop in a fucking plastic soda bottle in the middle of an open snowbank. They are cute and I recognize they are just following their nature since they are not intelligent enough to be any kind of evil but said nature is entirely about abusing their environment and everyone else living in it while contributing nothing in return but disease and decay so I agree.

I wish I didn't have to kill them and I will choose not to if it's not necessary but it is my duty as a man to keep a clean house and protect my food so the moment I see mice shit in my kitchen I must crush the culprit's skull with my boot when I catch it. There's the idea of a message but it makes no sense. Instead if like, they moved into the bottle and it tilted opening-down so they couldn't escape, filled with water, or a big animal or vehicle crushed it

Mice then. Here's the idea.
>Takes place in my old neighborhood, 50 years from now.
>Humanity is all gone. Buildings and items remain. Something lit the spark in Mice's heads, and they became intelligent and gained thumbs as well.
>Most cannot read, but can figure out human tools to some degree.
>Bottles are repurposes for collecting water or as shelter is common place. The family start out in my old backyard, overgrown with wild vegetation.
>The birdhouse in the center of the yard remains as a meeting place all the locals gather.
>When the heavy rains begin to wash the soil, they believe it's time to move.
>Hearing of a place called Stone Hole, a bastardization of the original name, where people like them gather in abundance as possible the first thing approaching a town, they and all the locals set out on the broken street and sidewalk to this place, which in reality is the local park.
>The trip will take them a month, although for you and me about fifteen minutes to walk.
>They'll battle snakes, birds, their feral rat cousins(their equivalent to chimps) until they make their way there, but that's not the end of their journey.
>A huge wall is present, created out of the cinder blocks present for when the park was undergoing renovations.
>It seems that those behind the wall and over the bridge are fighting something, and it's up to the protagonist to either join the fight or try and keep the family together.

>So how do you get mice out of a field? Hmm? My grandmother showed me. We buried a cola bottle in the snow. Then we put cheese near the lid as bait and the mice would come for the cheese and *plink* they would fall into the bottle. And after a month, you have trapped all the mice, but what do you do then? Throw the bottle into the ocean? Burn it? No. You just leave it. And they begin to get hungry. And one by one *nipnipnipnipnip* they start eating each other until there are only two left. The two survivors. And then what? Do you kill them? No. You take them and release them into the field, but now they don't eat cheese anymore. Now, they only eat mice. You have changed their nature.

Not just that. Besides the culture shock, it's a bit of a Ba Sing Se where there are three main areas, and they're stuck on the outermost first.
>outer edge: refugees from the neighborhood or traders who are visiting come. After you make it through the great Tin Gates, you end up here. Most settle, however there are so many here that it can be cramped unless you want to move to the very edges of this side of the park, near the fences or by the river. Both can be dangerous.
>The fences are rotten and falling apart, so animals occasionally come through. A wild cat is seen like Godzilla, forcing those beyond the wall to defend themselves.
>Then you have the bridge. The bridge is about ten feet long, ten feet wide, with two huge stone barriers on either side to keep people from falling.
>This serves as its own town, complete with two more walls on either side.
>Minnows and small fish are caught here, though for nice they're of huge size.
>Buildings are all along the bridge, far more cramped than before.
>Beyond this lies the inner most part of the park: the ring of trees where a bench once sat in-between. The mice have made their homes across the trees bark, old Christmas lights used as suspension bridges or pullies for hauling things.
>The seat of the government is on the bench, a council of large, old mice.
>It's here also where they manufacture the weaponry needed to keep themselves safe.
>Using an old grill that nearly every park has as a huge foundry, scrap iron and aluminum are crushed, melted, and turned into walls, shields, pikes, swords, axes.
>Soda cans are crushed flat and used as material.
>Pebbles and stones are loaded into catapults.
>Sewing materials from local homes are raided for needles and thread, used to make those spears, along with bows, ballistas, whatever.
>The main character wants to journey deeper, to warn the government of strange lights in the sky their family saw on the way here.
>The lights? Drones.

Believe it or not no, there are no secret police. Most people are distrusting in general, especially if newcomers, and may try and tell a guard if there's trouble or even a rumor of trouble. The Elders aren't dictatorial, bit out of touch and feeble, until things transpire that will force them to step down.
>Whatever gave mice a higher intelligence also affected other animals, but from the mouse family.
>Pet Rats are their neanderthals. Wild rats are their Chimpanzees or Gorillas.
>Ravens and Crows are intelligent enough to occasionally visit, being traders with what they can carry on their back, feet, and beaks.
>There's a single, large cat that seems to have a spark of intelligence but doesn't speak.
>With all this, there is another band of mice that live on the other side of the neighborhood. They wish to expand, having come together in a large federation or empire, and using the tech found in one home, they have access to drones, RC toys and "The Weapon": a .308 Hunting Rifle that they've mounted on wheels, and are pulled by several feral rats trained to do so.
>The Wall is five Cinderblocks tall, packed with three Cinderblocks deep. Filled in with sand, debris, clay, and mud.
What will happen if a .308 strikes it from 50 yards away? Mayhem, that's what.
>>
>>151653023
>Mayhem, that's what.
It'll definitely scare them, but it won't destroy the wall. Not without time and a lot of ammunition.
>>
>>151653241
Aged ammunition at that. But the rifle is a long one, and they modified it enough to set it from Bolt Action to a Breech Lock, and while the ammo is old and sometimes nonfunctional, they've got a huge store of it, about 200 bullets. Couple that with drones dropping M80s, or their primitive war wagons launching roman candles, and that wall is going to be in for a nasty time.

The Swedish system very recently had to change in order to fix the problem of people just throwing them away. For like 20 years it was 1Kr per small bottle/can, 2Kr for big bottles and 0.9 for glass bottles, the last one there was a total joke because sub-units of currency had been discontinued the previous time it was updated, which seems to have been the only reason they updated it back then. The recent change from a few months ago changed it to 2Kr per small bottle/can, 3Kr for big bottles and glass bottles but the manufacturers seem weirdly reluctant about the update, so far it's only glass bottles that have the new amount across the board and the old amounts still apply to all plastic/metal containers unless it's a brand new product. What's been alleged is that the old bottles/cans will be eligible for another 2 years but if that means manufacturers can drag their asses with adopting the new standards or if just means in case there are some still out there is unclear.

I can't help but think this is because... Well, that stores and manufacturers actually hate the system and secretly want people to just throw them away. There's no way a soda can actually costs 2Kr to make, so rewarding that money for recycling it probably eats into budgets. I know plenty of stores happily avoids repairing the machines for as long as possible and some consistently seem to disconnect "call for help in case of malfunction" phone, or at the very least puts help with the malfunctioning machines very low on the priorities list.

... Anyway, have a cartoon mouse...

Damn, with your kr. being like 2/3rds of ours that's fucking abysmal.
Ours used to be even higher than it us now, being 1.50 kr., 2.50 kr., and 4.25 kr. until 2004.
How the fuck do they expect people to care when you barely even get a coin back per unit?
>>
>>151653935
Skaven female. Skaven are giant rat men that are known for being both super intelligent yet retarded as fuck. They have a population at the smallest somewhere in the hundreds of billions. This is due to the fact that at birth, any female skaven is heavily mutated into a mindless, gorged beast that has the ability to just flood a nest with spawn. If they aren't mutated they end up pretty normal all-things considered, even human-like.
>>
>>151654819
Like I said, I think the manufacturers and stores secretly hate system because, even at these tiny amounts, the bottles probably lose them money and they may have actively prevented updates to the system. I mentioned how the stores may intentionally slow down the flow but I forgot to also point out that many stores tend to set up "No cash reward, only purchase" or "No cash above X Kr" policies just to prevent people from using the money elsewhere, which is incredibly annoying.
>>
>>151643697
And cum on them.
>>
>>151655140
Over here they literally get money for each crate with glass flasks, and they have these big boxes that the plastic gets collected in, which they're also payed for each one filled.
Basically everywhere that sells groceries has a recycling station, unless they're like a hole in the wall style kiosk.
I'm not even sure they pay for upkeep of the machines, since they're usually serviced by the same company that collects the glass and plastic.

The thing that stick out to me is how shading is used; Bluth's later works often had shading, but NIHM and American Tail didn't have it to such a degree opting for muting the pallets of characters in dark eras. The eyes also seem less dimensional and alert than how Bluth's films usually renders them, which probably reads as "Anime" to some people.

The influences are there though, but I also feel like if you going to animate pastoral mice living in trash, Bluth is really the only Western animated source to pull from.

Caught a mouse at the office recently. We tried luring it with peanut butter, but she was having none of it. In the end we got her with a slice of pear, cracker crumbs and cheese (classy lady).

I had to drive pretty far that day anyway (~2hrs) for an errand, and figured I'd take her with me for the ride. I was gonna drop her off at some roadside after the errand, but I figured a spoiled bratty mouse like this wouldn't stand a chance in the wild. I took a detour to the edge of a pretty bad neighborhood and left her there instead. Should be pretty easy living, provided she dodges the cats.

>Feivel
I always hated feivel, even as a little kid. I could never explain why. I just knew that I did. Something about him triggered alarms in me. Didn't know why back then, but now I know. I could sense the jewishness and evil emanating from him. As a little six year old kid, watching that movie in school right before summer break, something deep inside me awoke. Like a primal fear and guttural hatred. I knew I had to destroy feivel and his family. Before they could do the same to me. And then I found out that my family had been serfs for centuries to jewish land owners in what is now modern day ukraine.

Why? I understand the idea of turning every woman into a breeding sow if your species is in the verge of extinction but why do they do it if they are hundreds of billions?
>>
>>151658176
Because the way Skaven engage in warfare basically means they're constantly on the verge of extinction.

They can understand the concept of clothing, furniture, and the traditional family unit, but somehow a concept as fundamental as balance is beyond them?

Like, if this is an anti-polluting PSA, it's a pretty shitty one. Nothing about the glass bottle is intrinsic to the horror of the ending. They would have been just as fucked if they moved into something totally natural like a log or gourd.

Like fuck man, at some point it's your own damn fault.

And it's especially shitty because there's a million ways to play out a similar scenario that DO lean in to the dangers of pollution. Maybe the family stumbles onto some leaking antifreeze or chocolate and poison themselves.

>>151660997
Had the same thoughts. Not to mention that they shoved all that stuff in there and the snow didn't shift? The bottle didn't settle? These fucking things can use FIRE, but they didn't dig out or move the bottle to be somewhere that wasn't exposed in the middle of a forest?

What's the fucking lesson here? Hyper intelligent mice are retarded to don't leave your trash around or an extremely high population type of wildlife might set itself on fire inside of your trash?

they are fucking pests that bring nothing but diseases, shit and piss fucking everywhere and eventually chew through fucking everything ruining every place they dwell in, i always enjoy when i get to crush one of those little fuckers skulls as they try to sneak into my home, too bad they are so agile and get away so easily or it would happen more often, cornering and watching them run out of energy feels great tho, fucking garbage animals, can't believe some people out there sympatize with this things when they do absolutely no good to anyone and once almost killed the entirety of europe population
i kinda feel the same towards Cats irl but even tho they are highly damaging to the local ecosystems they are still way more useful than those fucking pests, and in fiction Feline anthros are simply too hot for me to ignore, so i give them a pass.

there are so many other ways you could properly tell an emotional little scene and acknowledge litter as dangerous and hazardous. this is fucking stupid and so oddly specific that it's just going to make people think "well damn i won't put the bottle on an incline then"

how did they ever think that this concept worked for the dangers of litter?

If you look at the furniture a lot of it is flammable stuff, like the legs on the bed being matches and the table supported by pencils. There are some books too. Not to mention the tree and the garland probably being real. There's a brief emphasis on how many candles they've got burning. The ones in the tree, the candelabra, one in the entryway, mom's holding one. Then the outside shot shows that damn bottle's glowing and some of the snow is melting off. It was fucking hot in there (for a cartoon mouse). The dad is shown struggling to hold onto the bed, so we can assume their furniture is heavy (for cartoon mice). So they get stuck at the bottom of a pile of flammable furniture. Not impossible for the parents to have survived but those kids are fucking dead.
>>
>>151661823

all this animation wasted because no one is capable of conceptualizing something with narrative cohesion. how hard is it to fuck up a psa about littering jesus fucking christ dude. all of the conversation around this is either "look at the pretty animation", falling for the "it starts off childish and whimsical before DEATH?!" shtick most annoying PSA ads do, or trying to fucking figure out what actually happened
>did they burn because of the focus on the fire they lit? did they just get stuck through the winter despite it being a plastic bottle they could chew out of because we used mice?

is it really asking for too much that at least PSAs can be made by people who understand basic things

Given I now want to resume working on this story of mine, would it be out of place for mice to use some of our tools for the following:
>Eating Knives with the teeth on them are used as saws for cutting down thin trees, or even big ones that will just take a while.
>Sewing needles used as spears.
>Aluminum cans, when crushed, are used as walls.
>Skateboards used to haul cargo and mice.
>Staples are flattened out and used as swords or daggers.
>Lighter's lighting mechanism are reused for their great foundry.
>Christmas Lights can be reused as street lamps.
Any other ideas?

Actually I think the implication is that they suffocated as the bottled tilted the lantern consumed the oxygen in the bottom of the bottle and as the CO2 rose up would block the only hole for gas exchange creating a bubble. Thusly, the lantern is snuffed out as all oxygen is consumed and the family, either knocked out from the falling furniture or already asleep, would asphyxiate before they could ram a side to make the bottle sideways again.

It should be noted this was already a precarious death trap because the family was unknowingly relying on the opening being large enough to allow a gas exchange between cold air at the bottom of the portal and the CO2 from their heat sources exiting the top of the portal.

Im sure you dont need illustrations.
