Let's say the Sonic movie went into pre-production AFTER the Mario movie was released. Do you think they would've opted to make it fully animated after seeing how successful Mario was? Because it feels like they only went with the live-action "road trip" formula because it was proven to make money for kids movies. Or do you think there was always the desire to make Sonic a hybrid movie to match the SA1/SA2 direction?
