>Worse streaming debut than The MarvelsOkay, what went wrong? No one can even accuse Disney of not marketing this movie. It was everywhere.
>>151642281>what went wrong?The fucking cast.
>>151642281Dead brand. Also I suspect The Marvels had a lot of hate-watching. It happened this year with Iron Heart which had higher viewership than fucking Daredevil.
Pedro Pascal fatigue Galactus being a jokeJohnny looking like a fag when he's straightSet apart from the main universe
>>151642322You forgot>exists solely as an elaborate setup for a later movie that hasn't even been written yet
>>151642301That's ironic, because Disney was hate-watch farming F4 before the movie came out. Jeremy Jahns called them out in his review.
>>151642281Terrible casting, brand fatigue, and the movie was absolutely butchered by editing.
>>151642336>>exists solely as an elaborate setup for a later movie that hasn't even been written yetIt was the opposite. The film is extremely self-contained because it was in development long before Doomsday became a thing.
time is up for new capeshit reboot
>>151642360>Disney was hate-watch farming F4 before the movie came out.qrd?
>>151642370Capesit won't survive long. Only Spider-Man and Batman will keep getting movies.
>>151642281Capeshit fatigue. Phase 5, Sony slop, and DCEUshit killed all hype. My normie cousins actually got into the MCU after no way home, and then stopped giving a shit when after all the Disney+ shows came out
>>151642391>Sony slopI do wonder how much those films hurt the MCU at large. Disney was already making bad movies but casual audiences wouldn't really distinguish "Disney Marvel" from "Sony Marvel".
>>151642376The producers were rage baiting with lies regarding Sue's role and something about changing Johnny to suit modern sensibilities.
>>151642322>Pedro Pascal fatigueI genuinly think people overrate that fact. The guy was in two arthouse films which most likely don't share audience with capeshit at all. Plus nobody watches these films for the actors, they do it for the characters/brand. And if the brand has a bad rep then, there you go.
>>151642366They wrote it in a parallel universe so they could explain how the Fantastic Four could have an entire lifetime of heroic adventures without showing up in the MCU or without having to have other MCU characters make cameos, while locked in to the idea that the movie would end with them coming to the "main" universe and being folded into on-going MCU crossovers and stories. It was never going to be a stand-alone movie, but they also didn't know where it was supposed to go and tie into anything else while it was in production, just that it had to end with them leaving their universe.
>>151642419Yeah it saturated the market, and got everyone used to skipping movies I think. I remember around Civil War every movie became a must watch event after that, culminating with Endgame
>>151642421>some retard on a shit website makes up his own headcanonYou're just dumb.
They should have ended it with Endgame... That's it.
>>151642456The idea that the film would end with the FF arrivng at the main MCU was always just fan speculation, not something that they had planned at any point in development. Thunderbolts's pcs was shot after both movies were made since it's a scene from Doomsday, so their bad scheduling is what led people to think the film would have a bleak ending. Plus, while Avengers 5 was still The Kang Dynasty, the writer said the film wouldn't feature the FF nor the X-Men, so it also tracks.
>>151642477Fucking Venom was huge back in 2018 so yeah, people would eat it as long as it had the Marvel brand despite the film being part of a different franchise.
>>151642281What the fuck even is this metric? This means nothing. Soon you'll be saying it didn't get enough mindshare as scried by the furies, this is nonsense information.
>>151642281I chose not to watch the movie entirely based on The Thing not wanting to say "It's Clobberin' Time"That's not The Thing. The Thing likes to say "It's Clobberin' Time". Part of his personality is that he is a guy who would gladly say "It's Clobberin' Time".
I enjoyed it.
>>151642322>Galactus being a jokecomic accurate to the T.
>>151642600Two movies in a row that have been absolutely disgusted by the phrase "it's clobberin'time", culture has regressed.
>>151642322Johnny sucks so bad in the movie, it's unreal how bad he is.
>>151642525>not something that they had planned at any point in development. So they wrote a self-contained MCU movie where the whole planet gets blown up and the F4 just fly off into space, by your estimation? Don't you think that sounds a tad retarded?
>>151642630>Ben's iconic catchphrase is what his older brother used to say before beating the living shit out of him
>>151642281Damn. That little interest and even after Disney spent all that money for good critic review, too. Shame.
>>151642648Not what I said. As far as we have info, the film always ended with the FF defeating Galactus and their Earth surviving.
>>1516422814.9 millions in 5 days in a fucking streaming service, perspective is VERY important but asking some twitter poster to THINK its an impossible task, oh no! millions are watching the movie but since its not comparable to fucking endgame its the worst, its so over!
>>151642281The last three attempts at F4 movies all sucked, and the marketing didn't do much to dissuade people's fears. They had the quantity, but the quality was just average, no better or worse than any other MCU flick. They didn't just need good trailers to get people to watch it, they needed kino trailers. The movie itself needed to be better than a 7/10 for word of mouth to help it.The Marvels' numbers were probably also inflated by hatewatchers and FoX-Men nostalgiafags who skipped to the post-credits scene to see Beast.
>>151642419Based Sony
>>151642486You're naive if you think otherwise, of course it was deliberate rage bait. It started when the producer randomly declared that "Sue Storm is arguably the leader of the Fantastic Four". The rage-baiting became even more blatant with the Johnny Storm manufactured controversy
>>151642699I've always wanted a really good fantastic 4 movie so I was really hoping it'd be on the upper end of marvel quality (guardians/ca2,) it being merely okay has put the nail in the coffin for me ever watching another MCU anything, I'm just thouroughly done with the venture.
>>151642676So a self-contained MCU movie that sets itself in another reality and goes nowhere.
>>151642770As far as we can gather yeah. As I said, the film was already in place before TKD got scrapped, and that film would've focused only on the main MCU characters (hence no FF nor mutants).
>>151642281https://finance.yahoo.com/news/disney-just-lost-7-million-173252218.htmlYou can't lose millions of subscribers to shitty decision making, then raise prices and lose even more and expect to pull any sort of real numbers. Honestly, if you are still paying for it, I just assume you love eating bowls of shit.
>>151642792go chud get broke
>>151642808Sorry I didn't quip for you. I forgot this was a MCU thread.
>>151642844>seething
>>151642281>Another rebooted dead franchise>Constant woke rage-baiting>Awful CGI>Pedro PascalWe've literally gotten this same film every year for over a decade and nobody has the appetite for it anymore
>>151642948Crap liike JW and most of the Disney remakes have those same things yet still make bank
>>151642877Oh yeah. I'd be even madder if you rubbed shit on your face and recorded an unflattering impression of me.
>>151642986Kids love dinosaurs and Disney still has stuff people feel nostalgic for.
>>151642281Who cares about this shit anyway?
>>151642694Yes, perspective is everything. That's why lagging behind an animated movie that came out months ago and a GDT movie that had no marketing is shit performance.
Fantastic Four had to compete with Superman, THE superhero of superheroes. It was always going to be an uphill battle. Not to mention Superman was really fucking amazing. I think it should be hailed as a cinematic classic alongside Back To The Future and Indiana Jones(just the first one). Fantastic Four on the other hand was just pretty serviceable at best. I hesitate to call it a "bad movie", it just didn't have that same, for the lack of a better term, "epic theatrical piazzas" Superman had. I want to say I enjoyed both equally when that is very dishonest.Ever since that first magical opening premiere on July 11nth I: proceeded to watch Superman 15 times(and counting), bought it on both DVD and digital, and recently I bought the funko pop from my local Barnes and Nobles just for the hell of it.Meanwhile I haven't given Fantastic Four a single thought since that first viewing. The worst I can say about is that it would've had more impact had it been a Disney+ series. Nothing about it screamed "movie theater experience" worthy.
>>151643068... shit performance for an MCU flick. I forgot to clarify.
>>151643078This is really good bait, you're a good shitposter anon.
>>151643078>alongside Back To The Future and Indiana JonesI really liked it but come on dude
>>151643068One thing to take into account is that the film was added to D+ some four months after it's theatrical release, since Disney is sadly the only studio who still gives it's films long theater windows. Both KPDH and Frankenstein were Netflix exclusives.
>>151642281I personally think it is one of Marvel’s best films. But it’s a very family forward message and I imagine people don’t like that
>>151643141Good point. I'd be willing to bed zootopia 2 is also going to rival Kpop when it hits streaming, so disney aren't too worried for the animated kids market.
>>151642281I hate to be that guy but I think Marvel Fatigue is just sadly real. No one is invested in the universe anymore, pretty much everyone is scoffing and rolling their eyes at all the RDJ Doom stuff and the interest just isn't there at all. They've burned the audience too many times and the Kang stuff proves that they're not committed to any actual story they want to tell.
>>151643217>I hate to be that guy but I think Marvel Fatigue is just sadly real.I don't think that's a hot take at this point. They had two films this year with good reviews yet thay already burnt their brifges with normies. Unless it's nostalgiaslop people won't show up.
>>151643160Moana was still a streaming giant 8 years after it came out (that being the reason the sequel got made) so yeah I don't think they'll have a hard time with Zootopia. It's their other brands that are losing viewers.
>>151642281I dunno, maybe Wanda's curse on the MCU, in effect since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released, picks up steam after Halloween.
>>151643304>Alan Moore expanding his gipsy curse into Marvel since he's fed up with capeshit in general
>>151643217The only thing people care about are Spider-Man and Deadpool.
>>151642281Shatscal is BO poison, same thing WW84 and same thing with Mando and Grogu.
>>151643754>WW84Didn't that come out right during the first year of covid
Terrible themes terrible costume design you name it. Looked like a shitty AI generated version. HERBIE couldn't have looked worse.
Hollywood has tried like five times now but the general public will never, ever give a fuck about the blandest capeshit IP of all time. If anything this is the least-pathetic attempt so far.
no one wants to watch the umpteenth reboot of a washed up old comic IP no one cares about with ugly actors and ugly costumes. it's slightly less embarrassing at a glance than the previous reboot but that's the only thing nice i could say about it.
>>151643826>>151643877>>151643886samefag
>>151643929yeah it must just be a vocal minority who didn't want to watch fantastic four, again, for real this time, we promise, starring pedo pascal and his ugly moustache. are you the shot-caller at disney responsible for shitting this onto our plates?
>>151643963Looks like >>151643929 was rightinb4 screencap proving changed phone IPs are different people
>>151644011how delusional can you be to think a few people expressing an extremely common belief in the span of ten minutes is samefagging? what do you think this would accomplish, falsifying a narrative of...what everyone already unabashedly thinks?the movie flopped because no one wanted to watch it. people are telling you why they didn't want to watch it and you can only imagine they're all one person trolling you. get a grip on reality.
>>151642281Turns out social media bots and access media bottom feeders aren't an actual audience.
>>151644035Nta but using the same taking points and writing style for three messages straight doesn't do any favors
>>151642281It’s boring.
>>151644064Just ask the Snydercult
>>151642648>So they wrote a self-contained MCU movie where the whole planet gets blown upSPOILER FUCKINGALERT
>>151644635Doesn't happen
>>151644709well that's kind of a spoiler right there too...
>>151642281This movie is about nothing. Say what you will about Trank's FF, at least it was "about" body horror for like five minutes. What is this new Fantastic Four about? Establishing the Fantastic Four brand so they can use Doom as their next big bad. That's it. This movie exists so you can watch it to understand next movie.
>>151642281>Okay, what went wrong? The MCU is over. It worked for the first 3 phases. Then the vision ended, and because it was so successful investors thought that they could replace it with slop and still make the same money. But it's been on a decline ever since. The next movie is going to underperform too. All the goodwill that Marvel and the superhero genre has mustered has been burned out, because it's too formulaic and generic, and people want something new.
>>151642454>Plus nobody watches these films for the actors, they do it for the characters/brand.What
>>151644764We don't know if this version of the team will even know Doom
>>151644803You just know they'll circle back to Stark in some way or another
>>151644803>Robert Downey Jr.Do people actually care about him or does the industry think people care about him?
>>151644795International markets are pretty much done with capeshit. Both Superman and FF grossed more than half of their BO in the U.S alone, which isn't healthy for blockbusters.
>>151644878The combination of RDJ+Marvel is what they're counting on (basically memberberries). Actors alone aren't a selling point anymore. Tom Cruise is described by the entire industry as "the last movie star" yet the last two MI films struggled to make a profit.
>>151643217My mother in law has seen every single MCU movie but even she thinks bringing back RDJ as Doom is stupid
>>151645032It was literally the resultados of hitting the panic button
>>151642322>Set apart from the main universeIronically the best part of the movie.
>>151645074Yeah and I think that blatant desperation is gonna turn more people off than get hyped. I haven’t seen any sort of excitement for Doomsday outside of the X-Men which I’m sure are just gonna be canon fodder for Doom
>>151645088I was more excited about Fantastic Four because of the fact it was going to be its own thing. But I dunno the setting just felt very…bland? Didn’t help that the movie was at best a 6/10
EL DISANIDIO
>>151642281Carne Asada or Queso Blanco whatever is a terrible actor and person
>>151642281No one cares about the Fantastic Four. They're completely outdated and should have stayed in the 60s.
I streamed it but I just don't care about Galactus/Surfer on the big screen since they are so limited (big nigh invincible threat shows up, Reed does science, trick Galactus out of destroying earth). I mean Johnny beating Surfer was neat but otherwise it was all kind of paint by numbers.Gimme a Negative Zone movie or Monster Island.
