What do you think of him and the things he worked on? What's your favourite?
>>
>>151644017
You think he is pissed his company is ran by a Jew? Or that all antisemitics are Mexicans now
>>
>>151644047
Given how many animators were jews when he was alive.... I think he'd be ashamed of what has happened of the world and his company that's for sure
>>
>>151644017
I think overall he was a good business man not evil, and people use him as a scape goat talking point. As for my favorite thing he worked on easily Fantasia.
>>
Could have used a stint in jail to temper him for his lashing out at labor, but ultimately made good work.
>>
>>151644017
He's fine, a man of his time, I think he was likely most proud of either Mary Poppins or DisneyLand, both seemed to really have his interest near the end of his life, along with planning for EPCOT and Disney World on the whole.

I think my favorite work of his is Snow White however, as that has the most of the 'artist' Walt in it. As the company became more successful, he progressively detached from most parts of it creatively simply due to time constraints and changes in the workplace due to unionization to a point. Interesting person who would continue to interest people for many years to come I think.
>>
Why do people nowadays paint him as an evil guy? I don't get it
>>
>>151644270
Oh and one more thing, I always think about this quote of his when he comes up, interesting look into him as a person in his later years

>"I'm not Walt Disney. I do a lot of things Walt Disney would not do. Walt Disney does not smoke. I smoke. Walt Disney does not drink. I drink."
>>
>>151644017
he was a based anti-communist who was slandered by media at the time, most of the "walt disney exposed" articles you see in video essays and shitty articles were from open communists who despised him,

he would be rolling his frozen grave
>>
>>151644296
Envy towards a renaissance man type figure is common, or its hating his company vicariously threw him. Or Cartoon athestics contrarianism
>>151644187
Where did the Walt antisemitism rumours start?
>>
>>151644017
>What do you think of him
Based Aryan artist.
I hate that his company devolved into pozzed jewish zog chow factory.
>>151644296
>White
>Straight
>Rich
>Succesful
>Beloved and influential
If you are a tranny that's already enough and overkill for you to start fuming and dilating about him.
>>
>>151644478
>I hate that his company devolved into pozzed jewish zog chow factory.
He proudly made anti-Nazi propaganda during WWII, devoting the whole studio to the propaganda effort as well as being used by the US Army and would have been disgusted with Nazi praise towards his work. He was an anti-communist but you are twisting history if you believe he was a fascist.
>>
>>151644532
I didn't say he was a fascist.
But he would be disgusted at homosexual and miscegenation propaganda degeneracy his company is pumping today.
>>
>>151644047
Wasn’t that narrative bullshit and mostly based around how he was extremely anti-commie so the commies just said he hated jews?
>>
>>151644642
most of that shit is peddled by Seth MacFarlane.
>>
>>151644296
Mostly because his company actually IS evil and has been for a long time, so he gets flak by proxy.
Also because he had a questionable attitude toward labor rights, but this was pretty common at the time since unionists were often lumped in with commies.
>>
>>151644296
His speech to the company directly caused the 1941 animation strike. So he has been portrayed as a shit guy ever since. When he was actually just an incredibly terrible manager that had no idea how in the hell to maintain employee morale in any way. His whole speech to the company after underpaying employees was basically
"Suck it up, deal with your own damn finances."
>>
>>151644325
I used to joke he was a three pack a day man, turns out that was actually the case.
Lucky Strikes if you were curious.
>>
>>151644642
Some of it comes specifically from the original version of "Three Little Pigs" where the wolf disguises himself as a stereotypical Jewish peddler.

Now, the main reason for the joke is just that he's disguising himself as someone who doesn't eat pigs. But Disney had the scene reanimated in 1948 when anti-Semitic material was being extra scrutinized in the wake of WWII (this was around the time a film of "Oliver Twist" got boycotted in America for giving Alec Guinness's Fagin makeup that looked exactly like the Fagin from the original drawings).

Maybe he said some antisemitic things in private, who knows, he was a midwesterner born in 1901. I don't think any of the Jewish people who worked for him recalled a problem (Friz Freleng thought he was an asshole to him, but just in general).

I've always considered Sleeping Beauty the greatest film of the Walt era for its sheer artistry alone and was surprised to find he didn't like it.
Disneyland and the plans for Disneyworld basically invented a brand new type of entertainment industry but I feel like his plans for EPCOT went too far.
Although I dislike most futurists.
>>
>>151644017
I read a book on Disney . but I forget most of it. Anyway He was more of a mega PR guy than a cartoonist. Still a legend in the industry.

>>
>>151644017
Great business leader. Not quite an evil person like other great business leaders, but kind of a controlling dick. Still, I admire his work ethic and his vision.

I really wish he got EPCOT off the ground, even if I think it would have crashed and burned, it would have been interesting.

>unionists were often lumped in with commies
Unionists ARE commies you fucking retard.

While there's nothing wrong with collective bargaining in principle, it always degenerates into commie horseshit if it didn't start that way in the first place. You just wind up paying union dues to IRL jannies who want to exploit you more than the 'muh company' ever did, and undermine meritocracy. The fact you believe otherwise is proof you're just fucking brainwashed by commie shit.
>>
>>151644017
He would probably work on Knights of Guinevere if you somehow resurrected him.

>I've always considered Sleeping Beauty the greatest film of the Walt era for its sheer artistry alone and was surprised to find he didn't like it.
I think Sleeping Beauty is incredible on a technical and art direction level, but I understand Walt's point of view, it's so perfect as to be almost clinical, it lacks thw warmth of the production design and art direction that make Snow White and Pinocchio stand the test of time.

>I really wish he got EPCOT off the ground, even if I think it would have crashed and burned, it would have been interesting.
I respect and admire Roy Disney for supporting Walt for all those years, but I really do feel like he did him dirty by not fulfilling Walt's dream of the EPCOT project. Walt wanted his legacy to make the world a better place, and that was his hope with EPCOT, to change the way communities were built and run for the future.
>>
>>151644017
He made so many movies that I love that it's hard to choose. I guess I stick to Sleeping Beauty because that was my favorite movie during my childhood..

I think uncle Walt was an American entrepeneur. He had vision and ambition. If it wasn't for his brother Roy, Walt would go bankrupt many times like Osamu Tezuka. I guess it's easy to make fun of him because his sanitized image during his lifetime, Walt himself admitted it was a marketing ploy, and his name being associated with objectively the most evil company in the world right now. I still love him with all his flaws
>>
>>151644017
>What's your favourite?
Abraham Lincoln robot
>>
>>151645496
The Walt animatronic show that replaced Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln (just this year, then it will alternate) was pretty good. I went on it last week, and it looks better than some of the early videos and impressions, I'm pretty sure they've tweaked it a little.
>>
>>151644270
Was it ever stated what was his favorite work? I know he started on Alice shorts before Snow White's movie, but was it Alice?
>>
>>151645803
It can't be Alice because Walt was disappointed how it came out yo the point employees never mentioned Alice in front of Walt. I like the movie though and it got a renaissance in the 70s as a trip flick

He was fond of Snow White because it completing it and it ending up a huge success really cemented the future of the studio, but he always thought the sequence in Cinderella where her rags transform into her ball gown was the best sequence ever animated at the studio.

but also the fact that some kinds of people absolutely hate things that are seen as innocent and wholesome and and try their best to smear it in someway. often by hyping up and sensationalizing the company or creators short comings.
its why people like to bring up things like the "original dark brothers grimm fables" or the "disney porn vault", or dr seuess political cartoons and edgy jokes writers and artists make behind the scenes in production.
hell, look at the recent Pokemon leaks where the writing team experimented with edgier mythos, only for it to be purposefully misinterpreted as gooner writing so they could tarnish the reputation of the franchise

Fantasia is the greatest animated film ever made and that will ever be made. Walt is like Jim Henson in that you only get a couple of guys like them in a century

in disney's case i don't think it's necessarily that people hate wholesomeness so much as they hate how a lot of disney media comes off as extremely sterile and insincere.
it wasn't nearly as bad before walt died though

>so much as they hate how a lot of disney media comes off as extremely sterile and insincere

i was once wide-eyed, optimistic, and believed (!) the best in people... how innocent and projecting i was. i blindly assumed that most people were like me on the inside, that's what school and society aggressively pushed. that people were all the same on the inside, and i blindly assumed that being good-natured, generous, kind, giving benefit of doubt, able to envision the apple, able to imagine how i'd have felt without breakfast, ability to map out scenarios in my mind, ability to understand per capita... much to the rage of "other people" in my life.

i got the hard blackpill. people who lack goodness boil over in rage when they see others having things they themselves can't. an example ape would love a fancy movie with fancy stage sets, enjoy a well-written book with deep lore, enjoy an author's name and what it indicates... UNTIL!! said ape were to meet author or moviemaker face to face, and visually see that a good person makes good things. and apes don't have that.
so instead of the good books & movies coming from a mysterious source with a name, but instead multiple people with their inherent traits... hate takes over.

>what's this? where shall i do some reading? qrd?
dont know where you would find it now, maybe on the internet archive, but the people who make pokemon had a massive data breach and a ton of archived development stuff got leaked.
in gen 5 theres a book in a library that mentions "old stories of people and Pokemon living together" that people like to obsess over, turns out game freak wanted to elaborate and had written a few drafts of in universe fables involving marriage between humans and Pokemon, often the stories are tragic tales about humans losing their humanity to become monsters. its all very sanitized bible like since it glosses over the sex part and only implies it but in the online shitstorm the leak caused people passed it off as "official canonical smut"

Is this the one where it led to everyone calling Typhlosion a groomer pedophile?
>>
>>151648246
yes, its based on a real yokai myth that typhlosion was originally inspired by.
people only focus on that one because typhlosion is a popular starter pokemon a lot of fans are attached too and people wanted to ruin that, meanwhile no one cares about the slaking story being much much darker because no one cares about slaking as a pokemon
>>
>>151644532
>He proudly made anti-Nazi propaganda during WWII
He never liked war and despite creating propaganda like everyone else did at the time (sucking money from the government to not go bankrupt) he thought it was a huge waste of artistic effort that could be used for entertainment. Many productions in fact went to shit because of the war and no one went to see animated cartoons expecially europe crumbling under bombs.

Also he was a conservative in a conservative america, the nazis hated the nation built on the so called freedom, self-expression and christianity while in reality it was always a social mess hitler knew it would devolve into the shithole it is nowdays. People who don't know there are a million ideologies from left to right got their political background from a cereal box.
