Do you prefer grounded or fantastical heroes?
>>151644145Both, it's all about the execution.
>>151644145As long as it's good. I think that fantastical heroes are harder to pull off in both plausibility and art. To me, fantasy requires a lot more work to sell it to an audience, even though the meme is "It's magic, I ain't gotta explain shit".Of your chart, I did not enjoy some of the fantastical stuff, while I enjoyed more of the grounded ones. I found Doom Patrol, Animal Man, and Thor lacking, partially because I had already been exposed to other Morrison and myth-based comics that I enjoyed more.
>>151644145idk
>>151644145Grounded primarily but sometimes I also really love fantastical
>>151644145oh definitely.
>>151645145But which one?
>>151644145Grounded hero vs fantastical villain
>>151644145If I listed all my favorite superheroes, most of them would be on the grounded side.I like superheroes that ride the line between grounded and fantastical, like Spider-Man and Iron Man, you could see them fighting street level guys but you can see also them fighting more fantastical villains.
>>151644145I like em both, but fantastical heroes have way higher highs than grounded ones usually do.Also >>151645917, heroes are at their best when you can feasibly imagine them saving a single civilian at the same time as they’re fighting an extradimensional god
>>151644154That answers nothingOf course everything is only good if it's executed well, he's asking what you personally prefer
>>151644145Only one here that's actually grounded is Max Punisher because he's just a guy with guns. Everyone else are fantastically skilled which make them more interesting but still too silly for Hollywood.
>>151645662Fantastic hero vs grounded villain
>>151644145Grounded heroes are for lazy hacks. Use your damn imagination and embrace whimsical creativity.
>>151644145Fantastical heroes are for lazy hacks. Use your damn imagination and embrace practical creativity.
>>151644145Fantastical. I'm not even sure if I'm actually into superheroes on their own I mostly just like them as a vehicle for fantasy and sci-fi.
>>151646347You're better off reading non-superhero sci-fi and fantasy because superheroes tend to water it down.
>>151644145>The Shadow: Blood & JudgmentYou disgust me.
>>151646450What's wrong?
>>151646433This.
>>151644154>>151646051NTA but in that case fantastical superheroes because they're often more on the fun side, and villains are also often more fun and less grimy feeling.
>>151644145I want a realistic, down-to-earth superhero comic that's completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots.
