What does this mean? His movie is still well liked today, even if it's not very "mainstream" or has a big "fandom" around it. Some anon several months back in a thread about another film- which I don't remember right now- suggested that a lack of oversaturation via crossovers, merchandise, cheap direct to video sequels, and stuff like that helped keep it fondly remembered in the long run. I'd argue that principle is true for The Great Mouse Detective. (then again everyone's willing to look past the heap of Land Before Time sequels to acknowledge how great the first one is, so who knows?)
