During the arrival of the X-Virus in New York, Emma saved the young mutant Eris from being kidnapped by Revelation's Seraphim, resulting in her heart getting carved out and Eris using her mutant powers to accidentally cause a massive landslide which Emma and the Avengers Mansion was caught in. Tony Stark scouted the wreckage in hope of finding Emma and failed, completely unaware that she had managed to survive by turning into her diamond form permanently and losing the ability to use her telepathy in the process. Years later, after having failed to find the students that she used to train, Emma returned to the wreckage of the Avengers Mansion in hopes of finding Tony to repair her heart. But to her shock, she met with the now grown-up Eris again who revealed to Emma that Tony had become the self-appointed Iron King of the Hellfire Club and had become infected by the X-Virus, turning him into a ruthless machine that is studying on how to cure the X-Virus for good with the help of her and her adoptive father/his best friend Rhodey. Returning back from a mission, Rhodey was attacked by a Seraphim chasing him and got exposed to the X-Virus. Despite attempts to halt the infection, the X-Virus continued to mutate until Tony decided to kill him in front of Emma and Eris to protect the progress that he had made!Can Emma make Tony realize what he has done? And what did Rhodey acquire during the mission that Tony needs?

With the rise of the X-Virus across the Revelation Territories, Mister Sinister's base, Vale Sinister, became a refuge for those mutants who began showing signs of being further mutated by the X-Virus, despite the virus being seemingly harmless to mutants. Some of these mutants include his group of mercenaries consisting of Havok, Domino, Black Cat, Omega Red, and Lady Fantomex, who all work for him so that he may eventually create a cure for the X-Virus. Following a mission to capture Venom to further his research, Sinister was able to conclude that Revelation was behind the X-Virus outbreak and not 3K. With the hopes of finding out how the virus was created, Sinister ordered the mercs to go investigate Revelation's abandoned facility where he orchestrated secret research programs. Venturing into the facility, they were able to find the files showing how the X-Virus was created and how to remove it...but they also tripped off an alarm which led to Revelation himself, along with his Choristers and Seraphim, to capture them (or in Omega Red's case, get killed by Logan)!Will any of them be able to get out of the facility alive? And who is the host of Venom?

Following the rise of the Revelation Territories, all television networks have become controlled by a massive energy generator known as the "Power Plant". Realizing that he had to shut his operations down in a week if the Power Plant kept operating, Mojo quickly devised a plan to get rid of it, by creating the hit show "Longshots", where the contestants (Hellcat, Bishop, Rhino, Kraven, and Wonder Man) were tasked to destroy the Power Plant. But as they finally reached the Power Plant, Bishop was suddenly killed, while Kraven and Rhino got teleported away when they fought over Cable's arm that Bishop was wearing. With Hellcat and Wonder Man being the only contestants left, Mojo is in a panic as he fears for the viewer numbers to drop! Will this be the end of Mojo? And what happened to Bishop?

Last issue, Peter and Logan got teleported to Earth-4587 by the Reed Richards of that reality. Reed-4587 tells them that he has brought them here to kill Arachnix, a villain who has powers similar to both of them and who is responsible for the murder of Mariko, Reed's wife in this reality. Peter and Logan headed to the sewers where they faced off against him, but were surprised to learn that this was not the first time that Arachnix has faced them - in fact, he had faced multiple variants of Peter and Logan and successfully killed all of them!

Thing is we've seen variations on this theme before, and it never really matters. He defeats an externalized manifestation of his worst traits, yipee skippy. It never actually solves anything because he still has those same traits. It doesn't matter if the writer says, "By defeating them he's finally exorcised his demons," or, "Having faced them he'll be ready to resist better in the future." Another writer will come along and write the tortured genius Tony again.

Too many of these book tie-ins are going for downer endings with everyone/most characters killed. Like I get it that this is already a bad timeline and it'll be erased anyway, you can still give the surviving characters a good/happy ending, especially if the main event books will have Scott's team actually manage to take down Revelation before being sent back, which would mean that the world would start to recover and maybe even go back to normal. As it is, there's not much value in any of these books post-event for fans of these characters who either are waiting for the books to be finished or just got into the event at a later date, once they hear about how it ends. Would Carol fans bother buying a series that has her get Phoenix powers only to just beat up homeless dudes and just die for Jean to come back anyway? Havoc, Domino, Black Cat fans to see their characters die without achieving anything? The Venom isn't really any of the notable wearers that would interest the typical fanbase. Laura, Dakken and Gabby fans want to see a "happy" life as a family just for Laura's kid to kill all of them? Guess at least something might come out from the Iron and Frost book that'll pop up in whatever books that'll feature Tony or Emma so they have some reason to check the event tie-in to know full context even if they know the doomed fates of their characters.
