They shot the first season over the course of eight months, 2021-2022. It wouldn’t get released until February 2024, due to scheduling and the obvious visual effects needing time to be completed in post-production. They began shooting season two in September 16, 2024, and wrapped in May 2025. Third season was then shot almost immediately afterwards and wrapped last month.

They only had two year gap in shooting because this type of production takes a long time and money to complete a season and you can’t be sure if it’s worth renewing until you see the ratings. Aang’s actor was also in that age range where he would obviously have a growth spurt. This is what happens with kid actors. That’s why they usually hire older adult actors to play young characters, because they don’t age rapidly anymore

You literally couldn’t produce this show any quicker without shooting it back-to-back and no show that isn’t already proven to be a hit would commit so much money on a gamble

I didn't even know it had a first season.

Oh? So you can accept magic but not a child growing up that fast in such a short time?

If only it existed in some format where you didn't have to worry about children aging.

Some Boomer execs who watch their grandchild they only see once a year watch something 20 years old on their IPad and suddenly think it's part of the zeitgeist

I thought they cancelled the TV show.

I would give you this argument if not for the fact that TLA's animated version couldn't manage to make a 14 year old sound or look 14.

The one character that's really going to show their age is going to be Nami since her actress Emily Rudd is 32 years old. Hopefully she's doing some high-end skincare treatments and constantly wearing inordinate amounts of sunscreen or else Nami is going to look very off by the time they get to Enies Lobby saga.

The Luffy actor is a gamble since mestizo hispanic males either age decently well or hit a wall around their late 20s. It can go either way with Native American genetics. He's either going to continue looking like a runt or Luffy is going to look like a weird little gremlin man by the later seasons when Inaki loses with boyish features.

He's a grown ass man in the right picture

I feel like the live action slop is due to westerners still looking at animation as toddler tier time waste, theres also the fuck heads who will buy literally anyhing and everything attached to a product they already like so of course these shitty remakes and adaptations are gonna end up being successful enough to keep spreading like cancer.

Hollywood is collectively narcissistic and thinks live-action media produced by major studios are the only truly legitimate form of entertainment. Nothing else has "made it".

Pajeets are also comically egotistical as a rule, and compounding this with the above point is why Shyamalan's later films are horrible.

This, to them this is a graceful gestures torwards the plebs, taking their shameful pieces of entertainment and turning them to as close to "true cinema" as possible.
