I know he probably has an idea for what he wants with the casting and i genuinely look forward to seeing that when it comes out in a few years.

I really do not care for this. It's fine on its own, maybe at times a little bit too Kirkman for its own good, but otherwise something I'd still read; it just really does feel like a continuation of DWJformers at all. I think the biggest thing is that a lot of it isn't carrying the same weight as before.There's a lot of really huge moments in this issue that are just sorta pattered through as it wants to move on to whatever Kirkman will want to be the main show, and I'm having trouble excusing it when it's 3 issues in now. Under DJW, Skywarp would be presented as a much more visceral tragedy, Jetfire would be a moment of absolute and tender triumph, the revived Autbots would be a great rallying moment, Magnus' continued doubts would be far more solemn, etc. etc. Here, they're all just sorta standing around as the story beat gets hit and then moves on. The stuff with Flagg is also just weird, but I can't put my finger on it.

Transformers was a very complicated show to animate so anything that help streamline the processes was a must. Ron noted that there was one bad guy that couldn't have red eyes because his body was the same color red (Thrust) so he got the honor of yellow eyes with Shockwave(who kept the yellow because the red mono eye look "all kinds of wrong"). Another twist was Flint wanting the Sharkticons to have green eyes as a means to signal they are actually a neutral faction in the war but the Hasbro toy not only gave it red eyes they put him with the Decepticons meaning the work he pushed on the animation teams was pointless. It's interesting that the six series that followed it abandon the eye color faction thing and there was no unity to it. It wouldn't be until the 07 movie and Animated happening that we return to the Blue vs Red eyes.
