It's a shame because the style was genuinely cute as hell but its author seems to have been genuinely insane in equal measure.

Probably most famously there's the case of Radiohead being driven absolutely insane by the success of Creep out of a fear it'd be the only song they'd ever be known for, to the point that it actively drove them to be more creative in an attempt to distance themselves from their earlier sound.

This thread is like taking a step through a time warp back to when this comic was still updating and it's reminding me of everything I loved about it, hated about it, and how I was actually pretty bummed out it got cancelled because it seemed like it was finally starting to build towards something interesting. Whole thing's kind of a tragedy told through very pretty colors.
