I'm part Filipino and watching this makes me cringe a bit. All the Filipinos in my family are very sentimental and watch soap operas. And this reminds me of that a bit. But it's interesting how cultural frameworks bleed into animation and comics, even when these are supposed to be related to subcultures outside of mainstream culture. I am a horror writer so I'm more critical of pic related than if I were to watch it for fun, but think that it could have been executed better.
