I think the first movie is honestly fine. Like it has enough of a fun atmosphere for a kids movie and I still liked some of the jokes I did as a kid when I rewatched it awhile back. Somehow despite having a lot more going on the 2nd one feels MORE generic and dumb once you get to Garfield fucking around with the rich animals.
