I like Pawbert and I’d like to see him redeemed. Though he can change and become a better person, he probably won’t get released anytime soon.IRL, he’d be charged with three counts of attempted murder by poisoning and one count of attempted murder by exposure (deliberately leaving someone to die in the cold counts as intent to kill), plus arson of a dwelling. In the US, each victim is its own felony, so that’s usually 20–25 years per attempted murder, and courts can stack those sentences because there were multiple victims. Add another 10–20 years for the arson, and you’re easily looking at 100+ years or straight-up life in prison, with parole either very far off or not happening at all. Redemption arc? Possible. Freedom anytime soon? Not really.
