Israel was still an extremely new and "defensively positioned" country with much reduced borders compared to its present state. The war of '67 was misrepresented to the American public as defensive so taking such a radical stance as a fellow jew in the same year (the Kree debut in '67 as well, Skrulls '62) would require an extremely thorough understanding of geopolitics in an age where most people got their information from newspapers.I think your analysis is too retrospective, anon. There's just no way that Kirby and Lee were that far ahead of the curve on this sort of thing in the 60s.
