Why are so many people so confident being this wrong about comic book history?
>>151707981Blacks are butthurt that they've gotten the boot in pretty much all modern history so they make up fake history to make themselves feel better.
giving browns internet access was a mistake
Malcolm's X's first public speech was nine months after X-Men #1's release- Magneto's first appearance.
>twitter screencap threadpost this on /v/ where it belongs
>Black Egyptian
>>151707998shut hell up racist bitch
>>151708187yes but later on marvel did embrace the MILK/X metaphor, and helped make them popular with normies. magneto has directly quoted by any means necessary multiple times onward, obviously claremont took them to higher popularity but he was very aware of what was going on the superman/osiris thing is total kangz bullshit though. he's obviously a moses allegory
>>151707981black people will believe they existed in any country that has the word for black.
>>151707981...Osiris is green.
>>151708399Hell, they think they were vikangz n shit, and they didn't even have a separate word for black.
Afro centrists are just proudly confident about being wrong because black Americans cannot be bothered to pick up a history book long enough to feel pride in any actual sub Saharan African civilization. It's 50x easier to just watch a video made by HotepKang777 talking about how niggers ruled over the entire world once before stone age white people kicked their asses and buck broke them with BWC alone into having all of history faked and stolen.
>>151708430that doesnt sound correct, surely they saw the black in the night sky and had a name for that colour, or absences of.
>>151708373Claremont was clear he based Magneto's revamp on Israeli nationalists, not anything to do with the American civil rights movement
>>151708462They had a word for dark yes, but not for black.Black used the same word as blue. It's why he's called Harold Bluetooth.
>>151707998Yeah obviously, they all suck and like this guy>>151708347They're all comically racist but use racist as a pejorative to obfuscate their shitty behavior.
>>151707981what a stupid fuck retard with myopic vision
>>151708560huh. so they called charcoal blue aswell? shit man you learn something new everyday.blue and black do kind of sound the same, i guess it came from calling blue, grey.
>>151707981my ethics professor was obsessed with him being jesus i think superman is just world war 2 american propaganda, he gets involved into other peoples business and saves them out of kindness
>>151708610Superman was based on the ubnermench bro
>>151708625this, however, was, indeed. false.
>>151708588>so they called charcoal blue aswell?Yes.>blue and black do kind of sound the sameAs far as I know black actually used to mean ink, and is very close to the same words used in modern Scandinavia for ink, bläck, blekk and blæk, which originally came from blakaz, meaning "burned".The connection between something being burned and ink is likely due to soot being a prominent ingredient in early ink.
>>151708699well there you go, and they say this board is full of people that know nothing other than cartoon porn. i dont know who says that but im sure the holiday teens from reddit who come here will know more.
>>151707981Yeah, Superman was originally black but everyone's comics were bleached in the sun over the last 80 years and people assume he's white now.
>>151707981>Superman is based on the BLACK EGYPTIAN god Osiriske k
>>151707981Because most people don't give a shit.
>>151707981>Why are so many people so confident being this wrong about comic book history? If you're talking specifically about this tweet it's because blacks constantly look for ways to insert themselves into history of any kind seeing as they're too lazy and frivolous to bother doing anything worthy of record, so instead they choose to try to steal credit.
Osiris was fucking green
>>151707981I blame Big Tech. Most people on social media who talk about comics aren't interested in the art form. They just want to oversimplify anything and shove their personal politics into it.
>>151708373>>151708537The X-Men were not started to be an allegory but later came to represent anyone who feels like an outcast. Claremont saw inspiration from Israeli figures but never made it on the nose and wrote tons of other stories that had nothing to do with prejudice. Then I don't know when the Martin Luther Kind Malcolm X urban myth happened, but I know the makers of the live action movie leaned heavily into the bigotry angle and particularly through the sexual orientation lens because of the director, though that wasn't much present in the comics apart from the legacy virus during the real world goings on. But that's really when two certain groups really decided to take ownership of X-Men mythos and started acting like it didn't belong to anyone else. And that's how we get all of the angry weirdos online supporting the Krakoa stuff and X-Men acting like villains and changing so many characters' sexualities. Because they are so invested in the allegory that they want the X-Men to be them and kill and mistreat stand-ins of people they hate and perceive as their oppressors. And Marvel listens to and hires these people, which is why the X-Men has been a sick franchise in need of someone to stop listening to the nutjobs.
>>151707981I know. You've got so many people who think this and that "To me, my X-Men" is an actual classic slogan on par with "Avengers Assemble."
>>151707981>Why are so many people so confident being this wrong about comic book history?Because it's hard for people to admit to themselves that Doctor X literally is Malcom X and Magneto is a Ho-Tep terrorist. They're milita leaders engaged in a purity contest with each other.
>>151707981In 20 years or so People of Crime are gonna claim they wuz fust on dey moon n shieet
>>151712096Currently their claiming they were the true scotsAlso somalis are claiming they were the first to america and Minnesota was promised to them by god.

>>151707981>black egyptian god osirisIt's funny to me how liberals always make fun of "the confidence of mediocre white men" when black people say this kind of shit.
Professor X and Magneto being compared to MLK and Malcom X is a fairly wide-spread idea. Obviously the characters aren't directly allegorical, but they're also obviously influenced.Discounting 'Black Egyptian' as nonsense, Superman clearly isn't anything like the mythological god Osiris either. Superman has Sun god theming, which would be Ra and not Osiris who is the god of death, but even then Superman isn't anything like Ra, who was the emperor of creation and the first pharaoh with a falcon head.Superman takes more from Greek and Norse mythology, and is ultimately more like Hyperion. Which is why Marvel's Hyperion is rather like Superman.
>>151708441>The dumbest whites dethroned the smartest blacks.jfc, even in their fantasies whitey is superior.
>>151711814I don't know when Claremont first talked about his influences for how he wrote Xavier and Magneto being Israeli political figures most of the comic audience wasn't that knowledgable about, as the "it's MLK and Malcolm X" urban myth was well-known and widely believed by the 90s, and to this day it's still widely believed that this is what X-Men was always about from 1963, with people cherry-picking a handful of panels which would appear to support that narrative, and ignoring everything else.I imagine a big part of the reason the fandom tells people to start from 1975 and ignore 1960s X-Men is so people don't find out what it was really like, and don't learn what Magneto was really like. But you're right that the sickness is in the fandom, X-Men can't be fixed while that fandom still exists, because this is what they want. Apparently it's "racist" to want X-Men to stop being this weird persecution fantasy.>>151711870I think that's largely because Morrison referenced it like it was a classic slogan, and that's the run most later writers are looking to for inspiration.
>>151708347Calm down Tyrone, maybe shaniqua will have a fifth child with you if you ask nicely.
>>151712503It's insane that the people at Marvel have convinced themselves that the crazy people are most representative of the fandom. What's true is they're the loudest and pandering to them chased the non-crazy people away. And a new set of writers that learned about the characters and stories through BS internet commentary from crazies and recent awful comics. If they want to make good comics, hire a writer one of the eras when X-Men selling really well. Someone who knows the classic comics and characterizations and stays off the comics internet and doesn't interact with the crazies who now speak on behalf of all X-Men fans.
>>151712971It'd take focusing on the X-men as superheroes over their status as super-powered minority, and the fandom will throw a tantrum over that. They're PROUD that the X-men stories are circling the drain repeating the persecution fantasy ad naseum, and outright ask "You WANT the X-men to be like all the other superheroes?" as though it were an outrageous idea.Yes. Because superheroes are what they were made to be. Plenty of superheroes are still treated as outcasts and weirdos. Writers don't need to give that up. But when the X-men are being written as though they think they're the only ones who ever have trouble being accepted in a world where Spider-Man and the Hulk exist, let alone guys like Moon Knight and Venom, then it's clear they need to have that ratcheted back.
>>151708347I was on the internet as early as 2001 (I'm 28), the internet was 100% better before Obamaphones gave retarded blacks internet access.

>>151713666I grew up in a black neighborhood, so I was there to see it happen in real time.
>>151712332>Superman has Sun god themingNo. At first, he didn't even have "the sun power his powers" thing I think?
>>151712172
>>151707981isnt the MLK/Malcolm X thing true though? the superman osiris connection is bullshit though
>>151713732>I think? You FEEL and you Felt absolutely rightSun retcon only appeared in 1960 since Action Comics #262 (also Only AFTER Siegel returned after 1948 firing)since 1945 and until 1960 ONLY gravity was source for powers (or their lack) + sometimes they had X-ray on Krypton too like in Superman #53 (and ,probably, why in Metallo 1 story Superman could melt pipe that had kryptonite placed upon despite being power-less) Since somewhere in 1939 and until 1945 (ie The last Siegel canon) it was they were Already powerful on Krypton + Earth makes even EVEN stronger due to gravity being lower + since Superman #4, K-Metal , Action Comics #47 and Superman #17 Superman is Super because of special energy, same way how metal can have magnetic "superpower" or not while still being same metal physically1938-somewhere 1939 = Superman is tough because his skin and muscles are THAT strong and entire planet was like that 1934 - because he came from the future, ie humanity WILL have superpowers eventually 1933 - evil scientist made him Physically strongReign of the Super-Man - evil scientist temporarily made his MIND powers unlimited via exposure of some Dark Planet's material.
