Who has a bigger persecution complex?

Kind of impressive considering Krakoa let actual Nazis, child murderers, and the repeated rape machine known as Sabretooth onboard. Daken also raped a lot of women.

Cyclops was a cuck and so is everyone who sides with mutants out of some misplaced sense of kinship due to muh metaphor.

The only mutants treated as unwelcome on Krakoa were:
>The Fenris twins, for being racist against specific groups of humans instead of against all humans like a normal mutant

I'm a Spider-Man fan who likes MJ, and at this point I don't give a shit if they really want her and Peter to stay divorced. They just keep teasing them getting back together and coming up with even stupider ways to separate them again. This shit would be just as infuriating if it were Superman and Lois Lane or Cyclops and Jean Grey or Peter Parker and Felicia Hardy (oh wait). For me it boils down to "either shit or get off the pot", aka either commit and stop using MJ entirely or just shove them back together, either way it's not funny anymore.
>>
X-men and the mutants were the worst thing to happen to Marvel. (but but the sales) I don't give a fuck and something else probably filled the void and even if nothing did I rather have quality stories that Marvel being top selling but trash stories

>>151717970
>They just keep teasing them getting back together and coming up with even stupider ways to separate them again.
Slott was doing that because he's an asshole. Spencer was being genuine, Wells didn't want to write that so he split them apart. There's been no teasing ever since.
>This shit would be just as infuriating if it were Superman and Lois Lane
Superman and Lois had a will-they/won't they for for 40 years until the older Golden Age-inspired Earth Two versions were married. Mainline Superman didn't get married until 1996, 18 years later. Most readers didn't feel strongly about it. It's like expecting Archie to grow up and choose Betty or Veronica. You the reader are supposed to grow out of it, the characters are ideally eternal until sales dip low enough that the book is cancelled.
>>
>>151718947
I know, anon. I'm just saying that I'd rather they spend less time on the forced drama of "will they/won't they again" for Spider-Man and instead put that energy into a good story.

well, was he right?
>>
>>151712428
Unironically being a mutant and joining the Avengers does more to make the general populace like you, also Hank Pym singlehandedly did more for Firestar by making a suit that kept her microwave powers from killing her eventually then the entirety of the X-Men did anything remotely for her. Also I am surprised they still bring up Emma Frost killing Angelica's horse since you'd think they'd try to sweep that under the rug.
>>
>>151720057
Cause let's be frank, the same crowd that excuses away a lot of the X-men's shittiness have far more empathy for animals than they do for humans. And killing a horse to gaslight a girl is pretty impossible to spin as a good thing.
>>
>>151720121
It is an interesting thought experiment to think which Marvel characters would justifiably hate another forever and why since there's some stuff that's clearly just writers being shit/character asdasination and then there's the stuff that's in character and makes the dynamics of the cast interesting. Also it is interesting how killing one animal can make a character come off as more unlikable to people then someone who kills countless human characters on panel. Also speaking of Hank Pym him getting shelved for ages and never getting to be playable in games for a mental illness breakdown but Emma Frost murdering someone's pet but getting to be in so much is kinda annoying even if I know that it's just cause one franchise was more prominent for a while, female characters get priority and it has nothing to do with what a character does in universe since Marvel has many popular mass murderer's and also most of my fave characters in the setting are the villains.
>>
>>151717383
He got put on trial twice. The first time, Fenris attacked the trial and tried to kill him for stealing all their dad's Nazi gold, and he escaped captivity. The second time, he mind-controlled the court into a not guilty verdict.

Then he reverted to villainy again in the 90s, killed millions, and there's been no attempt to hold him accountable for his crimes since then.

>>151720121
They've swept virtually everything else Emma did under the rug or pretended someone else was to blame for it, it's oddly the one thing they keep bringing up, making it the one thing she can't ever escape having done.
>>
>>151720721
>he reverted to villainy again in the 90s, killed millions
that was Xorn
>>
>>151720731
Xorn was not impersonating Magneto in the 90s, just for one story near the end of Morrison's X-Men in 2003. Magneto still hit the entire world with massive EMPs in Fatal Attractions and the Magneto War, and still killed all those people in Genosha after he took over.
>>
>>151720731
That was ignored in IvX and Bendis-Men, for whatever its worth
>>
>>151713553
Not really. She explicitly refused to move to Utopia, outright told Emma (who among other things murdered her best friend, her horse, and tried to manipulate her into murdering Selene even though she had zero chance to actually do it) to eat shit and die and only reluctantly joined the team at the very tale end of the "wolverine runs the school" era of Jason Aaron's run and that was only because Spiderman was also involved with the Aaron team.
>>
>>151720057
Duggan, one of Emma's biggest white knights and hardcore stans retconned it during fall of X saying the horse died of horse cancer.
>>
>>151720969
Man, I read a little bit of Bendis X-Men and was so awful. Glazing some lame oc like Goldballs beating classic Marvel villains then having him just hit by a bottle by unrealistic psycho Marvel civilian number 23 and the usual of character assassinating the Avengers to prop up the X-men's victim/moral complex.
>>
>>151721042
Duggan also made Firestar an alcoholic in his Avengers run didn't he? Like she joins the X-Men once and is hanging in the Bar with No Name cause of the fallout of it.
>>
>>151720969
And those stories were ignored by everything else that followed.

Honestly, when there's been some editorially mandated retcon like the Magneto Xorn story or the earlier Dark Phoenix retcon where Marvel have gone to great lengths to exonerate a character from a particular storyline, and someone else later tries to just ignore it, or do a stealth undo of the retcon by just referencing the original story as if it was never retconned, that's just a dick move. If you want to undo the retcon, do the work, explain it, make it work. Don't just pretend it never happened. And don't try to unpick retcons that were done to keep characters viable as heroes just because you prefer the original story, which isn't really applicable to this Magneto situation, but the point still stands.
>>
>>151721071
>>151721090
It's amazing how Benis and Duggan went from working on Avengers books and characters to the X-books and immediately went all-in on demonizing the Avengers as "cops" standing in the way of righteous justified and mostly peaceful mutant chimpouts. I don't know if they went insane or were just pandering to a fandom that eats this crap up, with no regard to how it was hurting the characters they used to write.
>>
>>151721208
It's even better because Duggan then turns around and writes a pretty decent Avenger's mini right off of his "fuck Avengers" X-men phase. Shit makes no sense
>>
>>151721208
It is such a major factor of why I can't get into the X-Men side of the setting despite liking some of the characters in it cause of the pissing match against the Avengers or other parts of the setting when that side never tried to slander or start shit on the X-Men even in AVX which more so was actively character assassinating the Avengers to make them antagonists. Also whenever people bring up the Emma saying where were you at Genosha the fucking shut up bitch response should've been they were dealing with Kang not only laser nuking Washington DC but because of that he was ruler of the earth or how the X-Men were absent for Ultron killing an entire country off. You don't do that shit cause trying to make characters not being in other storylines a moral falling is absolute retard mental logic and then opens up the fact the X-Men actively never bring attention to the threats they are dealing with to other heroes much.
>>
Which individual X-Men has the biggest persecution complex among their fanbase and why is it Storm?
>>
>>151721431
Storm's fandom seem to be entirely powerlevelfags who come across as really fragile when confronted with anyone who doesn't care about her power levels and feats.

Magneto and Emma both have fandoms that have a real persecution complex about people bringing up how those characters are meant to be villains and all the things they've done over the years.

Cyclops fandom probably win though, for decades of being dunked on by Wolverine fanboys, and Logan trying to cuck Scott in virtually every X-Men adaptation, leading to the modern fandom going schizo on the subject of Jean, not shipping /theirguy/ with her anymore but losing their minds at the idea of her being with anyone else. And then there's the various extinction storylines and the time Scott was Literally Hitler, they've never gotten over that.

Fuck off. Just visit r/xmen which is basically the main bastion of online X-Men talk these days. Or CBR. It's all literal fags who don't read the comics or only started reading during Krakoa who are obsessed with every character being gay and the X-Men being their big gay allegory and loved Krakoa because they saw it as being a hedonistic pansexual utopia which is what they want because they're all a bunch of sex-obsessed losers.
>>
>>151720057
>Unironically being a mutant and joining the Avengers does more to make the general populace like you
IIRC during the '70s/early '80s period while he was on the team Beast was basically treated in-universe as a sex symbol of sorts. The women loved him.
>>
>>151718910
The bisexual thing is why he was redeemed. You can't be LGBT and bad in comics anymore. Daken's bisexuality was because he was a self-serving and manipulative scumbag and it was just another way for him to use people. He was an irredeemable piece of shit. But now since it's the complete opposite, he was actually a queer hero the whole time and dindu nuffin.

I'm surprised they haven't brought back Raze from Battle of the Atom and take the fact that all of his instances of shapeshifting are impersonating women (older Kitty, Psylocke, X-23, living as his own mother in the future he came from) to keep him around as another ally by saying he's trans or genderfluid with a preference for being women when not himself.

>>151723629
>The one that looks like a blue sasquatch or a furry is looked at like a sex icon
Marvel was ahead of the curve for sure in that regard. Honestly it's a shame that more X-Men didn't join the Avengers during that golden period of Marvel quality especially since I'm very mixed on Uncanny Avengers stuff besides loving the Shocker, Scorpio and Rogue team up plus the meltdown Havok caused among fans and writers for his speech especially with Bendis.
>>
>>151723690
I thought they just give him a pass because they want to fuck him, but both things can be true, although it is funny that it is probably the same group that calls guys like Captain America a shitty cop because he's an Avenger, then go to bat for actual scumbags like Daken and Sabertooth who are both serial rapists and murderers just because they belong to their favorite minority group, fictional or otherwise.
>>
>>151724449
The fact X-Men comics and the recent cartoon try to do Steve Rogers dirty when he is more of an actual ally and a champion for real oppressed groups in the comics is fucking absurd.

It's the fate of being "Captain America" he wears the flag and shares the name so people love to use him as the scapegoat. I'd love for more story arcs or issue of Captain America saving mutant civilians, especially if they are cute babes, solely to shut mooks up on slandering him as insert grievances here when apparently being an anti-facism symbol made by couple of Jewish guys during WW2 wasn't enough apparently and to wash off that AVX stank. What issues does the original non-Spencer Secret Empire cover so I can check it later?
>>
>>151725064
Any panel since 2012 onwards where Captain America and Cyclops are together pretty much since it's usually Steve being torn down and lectured about muh mutants by Scott. It's just the most bile inducing shit that instead of feeling like natural character interaction feels like a pissing match by a writer out to villify a character to prop up another, it's so fucking rancid.
>>
>>151725106
JMS did that in the final part of his run before it was cancelled, where he fought the physical embodiment of Death to save a bunch of mutants by sending them into another dimension to safety. It felt like the most hamfisted and cloying "see, he really does care about mutants" kind of story and somehow felt even more out of place than the previous arc where he fought an actual demon of hate.
>>
>>151725219
I always forget JMS did Captain America stuff though the main runs I recall of the character are Gruenwald, Strazynski, Brubaker and whenever he's in the classic Avengers storylines like Kurt Busiek or Roger Stern. Honestly I can't say enough how much I hate these storylines that put characters against characters since it's always such character assassination shit like Civil War was bad enough as is then you get AVX or IVX or friggin whatever. I'd take Steve Rogers getting a mutant girlfriend at this point if it'd shut X-Men writers and the cloying Cyclops was right/X-men lunatics.

Thanks, I'll give that a check later on and finally have a proper deep dive through the Grunewald run afterwards since I've mostly read bits and pieces of it. It's so annoying cause they always try to make out Captain America out as some government lapdog when there's like 40 stories of him defying and going against them for what he believes to be right including a dog shit story like Civil War and he won't just obey what is legal and so many iconic moments are him saying he fights for the American dream and how he will fight against what he sees as a betrayal of what the country should be even if it means going against the country itself for it. Steve Rogers would be one of the first people to throw his shield against Sentinels merely for what they represent especially since he fucking fought the last massive group out for a big ol cleansing of certain groups.

This is how Captain America would react, he's not blind to his countries and especially it's governments flaws and problems since he literally lived through some of it's sordid as a physically weak person and right in the face of vicious war after he got the serum and Vita ray's. Writers are way to obsessed with trying to tear down other characters to prop up others regardless of if it contradictory to years of storylines or just inserting moral ambiguity that was never meant to be there. Honestly it's why a lot of the big team up Marvel games like the original Ultimate Alliance and 3 or Cosmic Invasion are such a relief cause it is just these heroes working together no issue and having fun little interactions while dealing with actual supervillains and iconic Marvel mooks.

Toad is a legit powerhouse going by his depicted abilities over the years and you could write him solo'ing a X-team roster without it being an asspull. As long as he had surprise on his side or get to her before she could finish spellcasting he very easily could kill her.

LaValle and Gillen were the only writers during the Krakoa era that consistently showed there were systemic issues with Krakoa. Whenever Ewing, Spurrier, and Percy criticized Krakoa, it was basically a "few bad apples" esque criticisms. The rest of the other writers just treated Krakoa as a perfect utopia.
