Zootopia 2 is already the second highest grossing film of 2025. Can they beat Ne Zha 2?
>>
>>151716582
Maybe, but probably not. It's hard to beat "THE STATE WANTS YOU TO SUPPORT THIS MOVIE."

>"THE STATE WANTS YOU TO SUPPORT THIS MOVIE".
What
>>
>>151717556
The CCP literally distributed tickets to business owners to give to their workers and encouraged people to watch Ne Zha 2 as a matter of national pride.
>>
>>151717556
Nta but it's pretty obvious China was either buying tickets or forcing to see Ne Zha at gun point. There is no way that film made that much money otherwise. Look at its international revenue.
>>
>>151717587
Ironically the only movie that could realistically defeat Chinese Gert is Avatar 3, another movie owned by the Mouse.
>>
>>151717587
proof? Nezha was pretty great. I can see it being super popular in china

>believing chinese made up numbers
>>
>>151717603
The story is steep in Chinese culture that of course they're more interested in it more than other countries. How is that a conspiracy?
>>
>>151716582
>make a movie about a loser fox who gets lucky in every possible way
>none of his decisions have any impact on the plot
>abstains from choosing to aswell
>most successful movie of the year
is this what disney meant when they said they want to attract the young male audience?
the 80's are rolling in their grave
>>
>>151717556
Its revenue was entirely driven by China, and the CCP heavily puts its finger on the scale when it comes to media. They will boost views/ticket sales for shows/movies that they want people to see, and won't hesitate to pull the plug on "popular" things if there's a change of opinion in government. A few years back there was a reshuffling that made people decide that "historical dramas" were laudable provided there was NO supernatural elements. Popular historical dramas with supernatural elements vanished from the airwaves immediately, and previously-middling shows were shoved into prime time. It just Be Like That there.
So yeah, Zootopia will do well, but it's unlikely to crack the numbers you can only really get when the government of an extremely populous nation lets it be known that Good Citizens should be seeing something.

Incredibly funny to see all the seething about China.
>>
>>151716582
This probably as far as its going to go, Avatar 3 is going to eat Zootopia 2's lunch. Which doesn't matter to Disney anyway, because they're both Disney.
>>
>>151718481
>China doesn't like Avatar
Bullshit anon.

Furries won.
>>
>>151716582
Will Disney start to invest in straight romance kino and furries or is it more woke shit and live action slop??
>>
>>151717587
That wouldn't count towards worldwide gross though
