The idea was doomed from the start, it was either just making fucking Flashpoint in Live Action just for Snyder to dip out of his own universe (basically he was planning to do his shit and exit out) while introducing Reverse Flash out of nowhere, shitton of revisions and this.I like the idea that Clooney cameo is meant to simbolice to the audience that the Flash ended up in the worst universe, because it was genuinely that bad

He was given this bullshit creative consultant position, but really no one listened to him. The entire ship WB was helming lacked a "captain". I question how many directors/producers actually talked with one another between these projects. Zack Snyder was losing creative control, Whedon was brought in last minute to finish Justice League, and there was a laundry list of directors/writers that came and went from Flash.

Then they changed their minds and decided it would take place before Flash and scrapped the Keaton cameo to replace with a cameo from Affleck.
