When HBO Max became a thing, they couldn't get the exclusive rights for VB back from Hulu. So they cancelled the show to deprive their competitor of new content.Yep, VB was cancelled because it was too popular. Corporate media sure if awesome.This is also why they did a finale movie instead of a revival season: the contract with Hulu covers new seasons, but not movies.

Dr G/Monarch were a Doc/Jackson voiced duo. 21/24, Billy/Pete, 24/Monarch, Watch/Ward, Billy's mom/Action Man and Colonel Gentlemen, etc. They even tried to replace Dean with Dermott because that would have been another Doc/Jackson bit.The only character that was safe was Rusty. Dean, Brock, Orpheus got sidelined a bit as time went on, and the female characters voiced by women got it even worse because they weren't part of the boys' club. Triana is a shame but they also never really did much with Orpheus post season 5, the movie was the most screen time he had in years. If would’ve been nice if they let them get a season 8 to finish the story and expand on what they had, but without lazlo their was never that chance

They didn't WANT to. Lisa Hammer was probably as synonymous with Triana for them (Doc especially) as she is for us. They wanted to put it behind them and they did. Besides, she was never exactly integral to the show anyway and they can always come up with new girl characters to serve the same or similar purpose. Hence why we got Sireina who got voiced by Miliotti.
