Do you have ANY hope this show will be good
>>
>>151721150
not much but at the very least the art style looks better than korra
>>
>>151721150
You've already made up your mind, do you think anyone here is going to change it?
>>
>>151721150
No, Avatar has been shot for a while. Any potential the series had was killed with TLOK and i genuinely doubt they’re going to retcon any of the stupid shit they pulled.

Retcon? We already know they're DOUBLING DOWN on that shit.

I have never seen something look so busy and so generic at the same time...
>>
>>151721150
No.
It looks like it's strayed so far away from the original that it may as well be a different show.
They literally deleted all the history of the world and are essentially starting over.
The whole idea of the show was to base it off Asian culture.
I don't see that anymore.

To me this show looks "safe" like they want to avoid offending anyone via "Cultural Appropriation".

It's amazing how in the long run we found out that Ehasz was almost totally responsible for everything good about the actual show of Avatar: The Last Airbender, while Bryke are basically Lucas-tier Idea Guys that have no business running an actual production. Dragon Prince fell off a bit but it was a fuckton more watchable than Korra.
>>
>>151721472
Wrong, DP is genuinely worse than Korra in so many ways.
>>
Of course I don't. I didn't even hate Korra until /co/ told me to, but this shit seems irredeemable. Not a single promising thing shown in the synopsis or designs.

The only thing I'm interested in is seeing who survives from Korra.
>>
>>151721150
Nope, I fully anticipate the latest incarnation of
>Who the fuck was this made for?!
By Nickelodeon since that is where just about all studios churn out now is something that they kinda sorta think hordes of Twitter users that technically do not exist like and want to see.
>>
>>151721150
Any decent writer should take a look at the scene where Aang sees a giant line of the previous Avatars and realize this should be the fucking easiest series to write a new entry.
>>
So do you guys think they're actually going to commit to Korra causing the apocalypse or will they reveal somewhere down the line that none of it was her fault and it was the people that failed her while also providing cringy social commentary about how IRL fans are stupid for hating her?
>>
>>151721150
None, but I'd like to be proven wrong

The latter. No question. Do you REALLY think Bryke will ever let their precious brown Mary Sue be guilty of something?
>>
>>151723602
The latter most likely.
>>
>>151721150
I think it will be better than Korra and worse than ATLA.
That doesn't narrow things down much since the gap is a chasm.
>>
>>151723602
I kind of suspect they'll go with the Apocalypse situation itself basically being her doing the best option in a no-win scenario, but I do hope they still dare make the root cause of the Apocalypse be her fault.
Lets her be heroic, show she's grown(especially if the Apocalypse has old grandma Korra who acknowledges as much) but stay flawed.
Don't glaze her, don't tear her down either. Balanced portrayal.

All three became toxic woke though. Korra was like ground zero for the woke epidemic and The Dragon Prince (now King) is like half gay relationships.
>The deaf lesbian general aunt Amaya has an entire arc about marrying Sunfire elf queen Janai
>Rayla has a parental relationship with Runaan and I guess by extension his husband despite already having parents.
>Queen Anya has two dead mothers (and of course one is black so she's obviously not biologically related to that one)
>Claudia dated the "pure of heart" tranny fart elf that is the only character besides Aaravos to straight-up kill someone
>Then there's that non-binary Sunfire elf who is certainly a woman

If they drop the good versus evil dichotomy with the spirits then it has a chance. I'm guessing both Priya and her twin sister are avatars and it's possible Priya is actually the "dark" avatar because when Korra destroyed Vaatu he has to be reborn from Raava.
>>151721776
I actually really like Priya's design. Green eyes are beautiful and the melon and chartreuse go together wonderfully.
>>151723477
Well, I'm kind of glad they aren't doing Avatar but it's modern-day now, but I also hoped that was what they were going to do despite how cliche it would have been. The entire commentary would be about whether bending has value in the modern era. Korra made it clear mechs could do a lot of the same work as earthbenders. The lightning bending Mako employed to generate electricity for some fast cash was probably a short-lived job. I could only see water benders being of any value to society because of their healing abilities. There could have been a story to explore what happens if a genius water bender with incredible healing powers and blood bending skills doesn't want to be in the medical field.
