I thought Preston was going to hit the guy with the broom but tilting tilting the camera was a great move, dad really did a great job raising those boys.

Also seeing his short cartoons before the show puts some things into context I think.There's a tension underneath everything that makes you feel weird all the time even when they literally always solve things in the best way possible and everyone wins in the end. But the feeling that something's not quite right is addictive, and the creator is being smart enough to take it really, really slow with the whole creepy dead mom thing.There's an episode in which Duncan goes into the atttic that had me horrified just by showing that they have a box with "mom's dolls" and one of them rolls underneath a cabinet and is never mentioned again. Yet, that episode ends up wrapping up nicely with an honest to god good advice about parenthood.If you tune in with what the show is trying to do, it's about the most unique, wonderful cartoon out there.

All my Aunts have been handling babies, so for them it's natural. But there's something existentially scary about holding a new born that his whole life is in your hands. I remember being scared holding a new born, just waiting for someone to take the baby off my hands.
