Apparently the new "Ultimate Oz" comic published by AWA that got 100k on Kickstarter was recently exposed for using A.I. artDeodato was already infamous for his constant 3D pose tracing, but this one might actually be the end of him
>>151729303based
Using AI without openly disclosing it is also against Kickstarter's AI Policy and the people who discovered this are mass reporting it to them
>>151729334Fuck off.
>>151729303So the people who kept saying that he was using A.I. for the backgrounds when drawing Flash were right?
>>151729303He's been a shitty tracer for a while now.
Mike Deodato? Using shortcuts? Nooooo.
>>151729437Any examples I wouldn't be surprised
>>151729546I remember some anon in the storytime saying that Deodato just used a bunch of AI models and placed a photoshop filter on them >>141368026
>>151729706
>>151729303I honestly couldn't give two shits about this
>>151729319sex with lion
The guy was already a lazy hack, this is not surprising in the least.
This art is awful anyway.
>>151729319Bro couldn't even be bothered to try and match his belt buckle
>>151729303>DeodatoThe least surprising person doing it.
>>151729706That looks more like stock pictures with a very lazy filter applied rather then AI.
This kills me, because I've seen enough of his work over the years to (1) know he doesn't NEED to use shortcuts, and (2) think he's genuinely one of the best in the business when it comes to use of light and shadow. Some of the stuff he did back in the 90s and early aughts, like the Tigra mini, was amazing.Thing is, he also did Liefeld anatomy when Liefeld was hot. He has always been someone that chased after whatever was the current art trend. Land's doing "photorealistic" faces? Deodato went "sure." And he has the chops to be better, but he also has a voice in his head that says "that's what people want, chase the trend!" And now he's tracing AIslop. Fucking hell Deodato, get your shit together.
Unfortunately comic artists tend to get worse with age, not better
>>151729403Seethe more buck broke faggot
>>151729303The problem is he’s a big enough name that1. kickstarter won’t do shit2. His friends at either of the big 2 will still toss him gigs despite the fact that his art has sucked anyway for 20 years. >>151730993It seems now he isn’t even tracing. Thats the difference. Hes just using AI now. He’d been tracing stock photos like Land for 15 years already. He really hasn’t produced worthwhile art since his first stint on new avengers.
>>151729403Sneed
>shitty Oz comic using AIomg you guys this is worse than Hitler
>>151732053Go to bed mind broke sperg
>>151729303No1curr
>>151732194>>151732152Kys Mike
>>151729391>bluesky
All comic artists who don't draw with paper and pencil should be beaten with pipes.
>>151732362Meh I don’t mind digital so much so long as they aren’t tracing stock images. The digital coloring is more of a problem for me and mostly because they colorists and editors don’t understand that colors print heavier on glossy paper which leads to oversaturation. And while I don’t subscribe the oft-parroted meme opinion that colorists don’t understand color theory I would say that they don’t understand technicality, printing and product mostly because modern editors and creators dont buy comics and never have.
i mean if this wasn't career ending it's not like anything else was gonna do it lol
>>151732533I can't stand it. Digital is the laziest thing that ever happened to comics and traditional art. Any fags using digital are no better than fags using AI. As a matter of fact I hate it more than AI, because at least the AI can look like it was drawn by hand, instead of the Deviantart-tier shit that people put out.
>>151729484It's crazy, because he was actually quite good but then he discovered blender and just phoned it in for 15 years
Who's paying 100k for this shit
>>151734164>he was actually quite goodSo was LandOnce
>>151733783>I don't draw but here's my opinion Digital still requires workAI is proompting and I say this as a dirty fucking prompter who knows the difference. Don't get on your high horse about models being more honest than effort.
>>151733696this one's still the most baffling
>>151729303okay
>>151733783Youre clearly just baiting, idk why though. There is zero comparison between drawing digitally and prompting.
>>151729706This looks like a runescape level graphics render lol
>>151729303Mitch Gerads literally traces photos with photoshop filters and the industry gives him best artist Eisner awards for it.
>>151734231Land at least is honest.
>>151737114He also traces other comics.
>>151729303For shame!
>>151734203It's ok, Deodato can fall back on onlyfans if all the tracing and AI accusations catch up to him.
>>151729303Lol, just another tack on the score board of the East shitting down the West's unskilled neck holes they call a mouth.
>>151738985What causes a man to post something like this? Did he get addicted to Twitter dunks? Is this a way of coping with old age and the failings of his body?
>>151732075>It seems now he isn’t even tracing.Oh, he's still tracing.
>>151729759Well you didn't pay any money into this so it's natural you wouldn't, you have no slim I'm this game.
>>151739844Skin in this game*
>>151737114Must have the right political opinions.
>>151729334Shut up faggot.
>>151732362Actually based.
>>151729303You mean, the hack artist who was caught tracing shit on several occasions is now using AI?Oh wow, you can picture my surprise!
>>151729365>>151729365Woah woah woah... Someone is addressing Mrs. Yoop!?!
>>151739596>just another tack on the score board of the East shitting down the West's unskilled neck holes they call a mouthAnon don't, between https://desuarchive.org/a/thread/284140242/and stuff like Kengen Omega's open use of shitty AI as well as the long and storied history of mangaka tracing over photos the you EvWers don't have a leg to stand on
>>151739659>Did he get addicted to Twitter dunksMany such cases
While I may not be the biggest AI hater. Why should I pay some "artist" for something I could fairly easily do myself?
lol what is even the point of cheatnig with AI if it ends up looking like cheap, messy garbage anyway
>>151733696Anon, it wasn't that image, it was one of the steps in the instructions. it's even more obvious when you see that.
>>151741664The average consumer has no taste so it looks good for them.
