Unlike 15 years ago when subscribers were a cult following who'd watch everything you upload, subscribers nowadays are a box that you have to make the exact same videos for repeatedly or the algorithm will destroy your channel.
>>151730139The first issue is the Pencilmation channel itself, years of clickbait thumbnail compilation videos of old Pencilmation episodes have resulted in the channel getting either shadowbanned or annoying their viewers enough to make them stop engaging. Second issue is that there is zero publicity. Pencilmation hasn't posted about it besides the youtube video itself, Studio Meala (who animated the Gil Next Door pilot/series) hasn't posted about it, Golfinho Yuri (concept artist for the Gil Next Door pilot/series) posted the youtube trailer three weeks ago but didn't promote the actual episode, the only people I've seen actually post about the episode are Litterbox Comics (partnered with Pencilmation for the Litterbox animated pilot) and Shenaniganza (character designer for the Gil Next Door pilot/series). Youtube personalities who typically promote indie animation pilots like Valiskibum and Saberspark probably don't even know it exists.
