It was written and filmed between 2020-21, which felt like the height of "we can't put sexy women in ANYTHING, we need average-looking girlbosses." It was also during the pandemic and when the pipeline of Marvel shows was stuffed full, meaning that it didn't get the resources it needed to be good. Even without the hindsight of how poorly received it was, I believe if they made it today it would at least be slightly better, but nowhere near live up to the Byrne comics.
