What cartoons has Israel made? What does the Israeli animation industry look like?
>>
>>151755671
Pic. related was brought up earlier.
>>
>>151755671
Ahmed and Salim, MK 22, Waltz with Bashir
>>
they have their own version of plaza sesamo aka rechov sumsun https://youtu.be/5uRyIMy2ktA?si=P2FV80xzeZFsrZs0 also im pretty sure that everyone here is familiar with ari folman

>nobody cared about my Sabra threads, so now I'll just throw the whole fishpole into water
>>

I mean the production and publishing of cartoons that aren't shit or propaganda. From me experience everyone there besides non bedouin Sunnis are capable of high tier bantz.
>>
>>151756295
Sincere question: is there such a thing as typical Jewish humor? We have stereotypes about British humor, German humor, Finnish humor (this one is advanced) etc. Most have probably seen Seinfeldt, Woody Allen and standup comedians like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GlgHlcFLF4 but is seems all over the place.
>From me experience everyone there besides non bedouin Sunnis are capable of high tier bantz.
I never noticed much humor from the Iraqis I met but the Persians had a fairly dry and understated humor.
>>
>>151756284
Who are you talking about?
>>
>>151755671
They really like the Smurfs for some reason. I'm not sure why.
>>
>>151756528

>Jewish humor

Not a unified thing, with the exception of Seinfeld (half syrian) all of them are hyper assimilated Askhenazis whose families have been in the states for a while.
The rest are more similar to Albanians, Maronites, Russians, Persians in terms of humor. Armenians are also funny but more in a laughing at them kind of way.
Though I have heard Mandaeans and Hasids find each other hilarious.

>I never noticed much humor from the Iraqis I met but the Persians had a fairly dry and understated humor.

I've found Chaldeans can also be funny in a dry way,. Its lrobably that sunni islam's weird conservative traditionalist rationalism isn't the best place for levity.

Everything from Disney in the past 40-50 years?
>>
>>151755671
Actual Israeli here. Our cartoon industry is small, and is overwhelming comprised of indie stuff made by enthusiasts. It's mostly adult animated movies, but not the type /co/ typically likes (if you were upset about Memoirs of a Snail not winning an Oscar, these are for you). The Mikmak (local Club Penguin equivalent) show/movie is also quite nostalgic.
I personally prefer our comics.
>>151755889
These are classics. Some of the people that made Waltz made an illustrated (Not animated! It's paintings with voice over) movie dramatising the last few days of the second temple era, as an allegory for modern civil strife. I forgot the name.
>>151756880
Can confirm. Smurfs are awesome.
>>
>>151757178

מעניין. לא ידעתי שישראלים בכלל מגיעים לפה.

"How and Why Don Jose Dissipated" is an Israeli production.

תתפלא. אני פה המון המון זמן, ספציפית כל פעם שיש דיבור על רומנים גרפיים או קומיקסים מצרפת.

>or propaganda
I must admit that Friendship Song 2023 was rough. Lovely tune but the lyrics were something else.
For reasons I never understood myself, there is often a lot of humor in times of fear and danger.

Don't know about home made stuff, but they were really into some Kidd Video
>>
>>151756880
They like the cartoon about an ethnostate constantly under the perceived threat of Genocide by a germanic looking fellow? How strange...
>>
>>151758560
>Germanic
>>
Living in a shithole which only produces poolitics cancer instead of art is the worst.
>>
>>151758448
Right. The topic is cartoons, got any good examples?

>>151758684
Not all countries starting with "I" are the same.
>>
>>151755671
They've produced nothing of quality, a culture of evil and trash
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qRCzIj9QEo
Not a cartoon but I suggest you check out Armed and Delirious. It shows how demented Israeli artists are
>>
>>151755843
This is just quirkchungus “relatable” comic shit
>>
>>151755671
Everything woke and gay is Israeli, like that faggot show about puberty, the ugliest cartoon one , it’s on Netflix I think
>>
>>151755671
Probably a lot like 90% of countries out there, a handfull of some random, artistic but odd indy stuff here and there. Most of it not really for kids at all.
Most everyone just imports and localizes animated stuff.
>>
>>151755671
Monkey Wrench was made by an Israeli.
Waltz with Bashir but it's probably not what you're looking for. I haven't watched it but it's apparently about a guy getting PTSD, regretting joining the IDF, and apologizing to the Lebanese for invading their country in 2006.
>>
>>151757178
Kinda unrelated but was AJ's Time Travellers ever big in your country?

>>151757331
This getting out of hand. Now there's two of them!
>>
>>151758560
But arent Gargamel and Azrael jewish names?
>>
>>151758975
Gargamel is a real name?
>>
>>151758862
Sounds Japanese to me.

>>151758970

Also seems we got a huge influx of Arabs.
>>
>>151758395
I've heard they're really big on Dschinghis Khan too.

>Gargamel's motive for capturing all the Smurfs varies, depending on the episode or the media he is presented in. His motives are:
>To transform them into gold, for the creation of the philosopher's stone
>To devour them
>To eliminate them
Not fooling anyone

Well if they're a suffix "el" I guess they are. Any Hebrew name with "el" at the end of a name means, "<something> of God".
>>
>>151760429
So how about "Kal-El"?
>>
>>151758970
I've never heard of it before you mentioned it. But I checked and it aired in the Chinuchit (CBS Kids equivalent) back in the day. I've got loads of good memories of that channel. The online rips are from there IIRC.
>>151760352
Yup.
