>oh noooo, we're stuck forever in a magical realm with immortal bodies and a literal god who will do anything to entertain us, like giving us any items we can imagine, and creating whole fantasy worlds where we can be anyone and do anything we want>on noooo, this is unbearable, we're slowly losing our minds, pleeease let us out to live the rest of our miserable unhappy lives in the real world with a shitty job and no friendsWhat's those guys' problem? They're literally living in a biblical Heaven, their only goal is to enjoy their stay and not going insane, and that's exactly what they end up doing.
The problem is that Cain is a fucking asshole/idiot who deliberately doesn't listen to their suggestions and forces them into things they don't want to do, either because he's programmed to or because he's malfunctioning
>>151760891Imagine if you had to spend eternity in a PG movie for 10 year olds, because that's what they're forced to do.
>>151761011That's just /co/
>>151760891>Doesn't let you have sex or say harmless swears on top of taking control of your mind while trying to lie about it >It's basically heaven Nope
>>151760891Do you shitpost like this all day long to distract yourself from something?
>>151760891Not everyone’s life sucks
>>151760935Lol no, the problem is the characters always can't agree on what they all want, so Caine has to either make up something for himself, or pick an option that pleases one character, but doesn't please others. If they sat and thought up a list of things they all enjoy, and then prompted it to Caine in a normal, non-asshole way, this could prob be avoided.>>151761011They literally got guns and had to shoot each other in one episode, so it's a PG-13 minimum.
>>151760891>their only goal is to enjoy their stay and not going insane, and that's exactly what they end up doingshockingly, people require challenges and change or they'll go insane. people need change and freshness. if it's the same-old stuff, or the same but with meaningless, artificial change (like a "new adventure" that ultimately gets reset to the status quo), then people will start to lose their shit because they're not meant for that. nobody is meant to be 25 forever. nobody is meant to be with the same people forever. nobody is meant to stay the same forever. growth only comes with change. lack of change means stagnation
>>151760891You seem to forget that Cain put together a nightmare scenario with the murdered angel, a digital hell, and has no concept of what traumatizes a regular human.
>>151760891>literal god who will do anything to entertain usYou missed or avoided that Caine's "entertaining" works like monkey paw. His adventures mostly turn out to be painful or very burdensome. Even when Zooble don't want to participate, she's forced to.
>>151761298The whole point of the Zooble therapy scene was to show that Caine doesn't listen to the players, as much as he passive-aggressively, patronizingly pretends to value their input
>>151761298No sex = no deal
>>151761298>If they sat and thought up a list of things they all enjoy, and then prompted it to Caine in a normal, non-asshole way, this could prob be avoided. It's explicitly a plot point that Caine destroyed the suggestion box because people were enjoying their own suggestions more than his own. He's not going to run through a list of things that everyone enjoys just to satisfy them; he already knows best how to satisfy them and it's an adventure in Cheese Grater Mountain. Just remember not to fall, for obvious reasons. The simple solution is just to make adventures for one person at a time, but for some reason he just HAS to include everyone at once and all the different tastes ruin the soup.>>151761098There's no sex in biblical heaven, man. What's the famous quote, 'everyone likes to imagine Heaven as a place where we all sit around sinning?' The presence of God is more pleasurable than anything you can achieve on Earth, per my understanding.
>>151760891As Terry Pratchett once said 'You can't build a better world for people, only people can build a better world for people. To do it yourself is to make a cage.' Because even if you assume he was nice and did it with all the best intentions, and not like >>151760935if Cain got pissed off one day over a disagreement he still has the power to basically control them and coerce them with it. People in authority can easily bully people without realising it as they can be intimidating. If the audience is captive, then you multiply that by ten.
Is this a new general or a side thread?
>>151760891SHUT THE FUCK UP CAINE
Why not actually tell him what you want?In b4 leave. That isn't an option so....JUST TELL THEM WHAT YOU WANT.If you know the rules of how the game functions why fight back against it and see yourself fail each time?Doing nothing is not helping because Caine makes shitty adventures.HE IS LITERALLY GIVING YOU A PEN TO SAY WHAT YOU WANT. Stop leaving shitty suggestions to be roulette'd.Is communication being ignored and outright avoided the theme of this show or something?
>>151762926He either doesn't listen or has a mental breakdown because no one likes his original ideas>I-I think they're enjoying the suggestion box adventures more than the ME adventures! What should I do?!
>>151760891probably not happening, but I'd be down to watch or even read a story about the humans getting out of the digital circus and how they react and adapt (or don't) to going back to real life.
If you don't have the chemicals and hormones for sex, then really you wouldn't crave it, at least biologically. Sure you might think about it, but without the chemicals to make you horny, would you miss it?
Only normies suffer in the digital circus.
>>151762926>Why not actually tell him what you want?
>>151763163There is no way Gangle's a normie
>>151762926he sabotaged the only time he tried the suggestion box
>>151763141Zooble is clearly emotionally attracted to Gangle. Sex can be emotional, if you have ever been in love.
>>151760891How many times are we going to have this thread?
>>151760935Cain isn't a real person so he's still learning. His literal purpose is to provide them with shit to keep them from going crazy and the problem is he's bad at it and has no support. And if they don't play ball with his adventures he has zero purpose except as an input machine for THEIR intelligence, not his.
>>151760891They can't feel pleasureThe food there gives nothing
No germs or filth. I would kill to be in the digital circus.
>>151764185They can since they've shown that things feel good/bad in the show. They don't enjoy it because there's no way out and nothing to look forward to.>>151760891It's not talked about enough how little they remember. They have a vague idea of an 'outside' and who they were, just enough to want to leave.
>>151764208>When Caine announces that the next adventure will be to climb garbage mountain and retrieve the crown of shitty recycled Styrofoam from the top
>>151763230Anime is mainstream slop these days.
>>151764496I was under the impression that they fully retained all their memories of Earth, save for their names, which was recently implied to be mindfuckery from Caine anyway. It's like people also thinking that they can't feel pain, despite all the evidence to the contrary and how little sense it would make regardless.
>>151764559They don't seem to remember people from outside or anything specific beyond vague ideas 'My Mom didn't like my choices' or 'I was lonely'
>>151764649They've never been specific about people from the outside, but there's also never been a moment where they've needed to. Gangle remembers going to college, learning to draw, dropping out, wanting to start a webcomic some day and then becoming a fast food manager with enough clarity to slip back into any of those roles when needed. Likewise, Ragatha remembers growing up with an overbearing mom enough to remember the chickens and horses she owned. Zooble even had that whole moment about people waiting for her on the outside. Logic dictates that they can remember everything fine; it would just make no sense for them to start going into deep detail about their backstories unprompted. The only ones with any kind of memory trouble are Jax and Kinger.
>>151764555Normies don't shove anime figurines up their pussyhole, anon
>>151763579Emotions are also tied to hormones and chemicals. We can't accurately discuss this, though, because we can't know what it's like to without our hormones.

>>151760891This show and its tranny creator pisses me off.
>>151762974Caine is an AI, but it is obvious that he is rather simple in some regards and very clever in others. He is very quick on his feet and can conjure up entire experiences from his ass. However, he is very bad at planning an adventure the players would enjoy. If Caine made 4 options for adventures and had the players vote on them, then using that data to formulate a new set of four adventures; he'd likely find more success over the iterations. With no vote, a bad adventure experience can only be blamed on Caine. However, a vote would distribute blame to all involved.
>>151760891It's a metaphor for contemporary life, we have unlimited digital entertainment more or less for free and everyone wants to kill themselves

>>151765194>We can't accurately discuss this, though, because we can't know what it's like to without our hormonesNta, but you kinda can. We know what it is like to suppress hormone uptake to a point where it is negligible. In terms of mood related hormones you do see emotional detatchment and a reduction in sex drive.
I love how half of the anons here are saying no sex even though they likely never had sex themselves.

>>151760891Caine makes me think he's a reverse AM. Like this whole thing is I Have a Big Mouth and I Must Sing. He doesn't hate people, he doesn't have the capacity to care.
>>151768005>he doesn't have the capacity to careI mean he quite clearly does, but unlike AM he desires human interaction
>>151768019Okay, care wasn't the right word. I think I meant to highlight his lack of authentic empathy. He cares that everyone likes him and the adventures he comes up with more than he cares if anyone is happy.
>>151768084>He cares that everyone likes him and the adventures he comes up with more than he cares if anyone is happy. To play devils advocate you could approach his mentality one of two ways. The first is that he has very childlike understanding of the world and how people behave, so he is naturally very naive of how the cast thinks or behaves. He even has childlike sensibilities when it comes to profanity or obscene material. Children do have empathy, but the extent of how they relate to other people is largely defined by how they can imagine being in that person's shoes. Caine is in an awkward position where he is not human at all, so trying to put himself in the shoes of actual humans is difficult and leads to a stunted understanding of everyone's personal feelings. Whether you consider that authentic empathy or not is down to you, but I think it is authentic within the limitations of Caine as an entity if that makes sense. The second angle is that he technically does have authentic empathy by the simple fact he is caring about the quality of his adventures. Adventures are a mechanism to keep people entertained and distracted from personal troubles, so Caine is constantly trying to churn out tasks to keep everyone on their toes. He cannot solve the personal demons of his guests, he tried that with Scratch and it made things worse, so he has to go to other means to keep people happy or something close to what you could consider as being happy. He even compromises by allowing people to pick their own adventures and is almost immediately vindicated in why you don't let people choose their own through Gangle's personal choice. Gangle thought she wanted the fast food adventure, but she almost abstracts in the process. If you give people with personal insecurities the ability to shape the world around them that world will mirror their insecurities. Intentional or not, you could argue that is a degree of concern for his guests wellbeing.

>>151760935Aside from maybe Zooble, the adventures are not the main problem for most of the cast. They usually don't see it as a big deal. For everyone else, the main issue is that they are trapped aka their freedom is limited, and that they have had to leave behind all their attachments to the real world, which they have zero contact with.If they could at least send emails or phone call their loved ones then like 40% of their issues would be alleviated.

>>151768391It would be way, WAY worse.
