Peter David left us back in May, leaving behind a hell of a legacy with runs on titles that quickly became fan-favorites. One of these was X-Factor, so I thought it'd be fun to go through as much of it as possible.
Thing is, PAD didn't start writing full-time on X-Factor until #70, so we're gonna look at fill-in work he did before becoming the main man.
For anyone wondering, Tribute the Second was in New Mutant Annual v1 #6, which itself is mostly remembered for being the first comic to show the world what Cable looked like.
>>151762818Huh, thought PAD xfactor started with the new team, the one with Havok and Polarism
>>151763070Like I said, this is just fill-in work he did before becoming the writer officially
Just to make this thread a little less patchwork, I might as well include X-Factor #70, as it's very much a "passing of the torch" kinda issue.
For anyone not familiar with The Muir Island Saga, to cut a long story short The Shadow King fucked up Muir Island and

>>151763298Ayyy, love this page
Well, that's all for today - I'll try and get another thread done tomorrow.
>>151763063>best friend
>>151763401Thanks
I liked Peter David as a writer, but sometimes he could be a proto-Bendis with the extra-snappy dialogue
>>151763401thank you
>>151762835Beast's faces in this are so exploitable.
>>151762835I thought his second run was the good one.
>>151763050Beautiful stuff.
>>151763116>>151763104Kek
>>151762818Excellent choice in PAD runs, Anon.
>>151768135No it isn't. PAD's second run was dog shit city with him getting his wish to turn the title into a rip off of the very worst aspects of Excalibur. The only good run he had was the first run, when he had Bob Harras squeezing his PAD's bitch throat, giving fans what they wanted, which was the Lorna/Alex/Piotro show and Xfactor THE top dog X-Spin off that everyone has to read due to it being heavily entwined with the storylines in the two X-Men books and Xforce.
>>151768982This. PAD's first run with him having restricted creative freedom/forced to give fans what they wanted (IE Havok and Polaris) was great and actually sold. PAD given complete creative freedom and allowed to not feature Lorna and Havok meant some of the worst stories ever made and a comic that no one bought and PAD should have been fired from a year into the revival
>>151763104Well, she set herself up for that one.
>>151762818What the hell, X-men has good comics?
>>151762839>>151762882>>151762866oh but later writers were totally sure that these characters were gay
>>151763019no way. politics in x-men? i for one am shocked.shocked.
>>151772193Then you shouldn't have introduced yourself as Bobby's boyfriend, Hank.
