No. it's less of Snoopy being a sellout and more of Snoopy's IP holders whoring him out for merchandising and nostalgia bait. The same thing also happens with other classic stuff for many years now and for many years to come.

One example of this is Walmart's "WhoKnewVille" recent holiday ad campaign. For some reason, Walmart REALLY needed to play off nostalgia for How the Grinch Stole Christmas with those ads. Kinda harmless, but they were more annoying than cute and they felt like a cheap pop in pro wrestling.
