>DC's current ongoing Titans series is being revamped to be called 'New Titans' with March's 33rd issue, owing to the new heroes joining (or is it returning?) the classic line-up of Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Donna Troy. >While DC isn't announcing who the new members are, the New Titans #33 cover by Taurin Clarke shows them in silhouette. While we're not going to overreach and say who they are without being sure of it, the silhouettes sure look like Terra, Stephanie Brown (possibly as Spoiler or Batgirl), a Superboy, and a Wonder Girl.
>>151774615That seems overcrowded, but at the same time I glad Terra is back on the team.Threesome with Beast Boy and Raven when
>>151774615Steph is gonna be a batgirl because... You know the bat on her chest
>>151774615Good to see best girl. Although I've seen some Cass fans complaining.
>>151775162Gookgirl has her own book why are they complaining
>>151775170No, I meant about the writer
>>151774615According to the writer, this isn't even the full team. I hope they're good at writing large casts.>>151774727Terra being back on the team is long overdue.
>>151774615It's probably Jon and Yara
>>151774615Why does Marvel renumber runs by the same creative team while DC doesn't renumber even when the writer changes? Okay, I know Marvel does it for money. But a new writer is one of the actual legitimate reasons to renumber a book.
>>151776829When you relaunch a book too often, you start to start to give the impression certain IPs/franchises/characters keep failing. I think DC is afraid of that. If DC has all their big name franchises on a big numbers, it makes DC and its franchises look more stable/successful.Marvel doesn't give a crap though. Probably because they are the market leader. If you listen to Brevoort in his Substack it's pretty obvious Marvel would only publish #1s if they could. It's the difference between "why does Iron Man keep failing? The book keeps getting cancelled after 10 issues" and "It's great Iron Man reached 50 issues in the current market (with 4 different writers)"
>>151775162Nigga, why would any want Steph around these nobodies?
>>151776829Marvel isn’t really run on long term thinking, they just want to flood the market and pump out enough “cheap pops” like #1s so they can report to their corporate masters that everything’s fine, they sold a total of five million books that month when in reality they -distributed- five million books to comic book stores who always over order #1s and will order every book marvel puts out to at least have it on the shelf. Marvel’s corporate overlords don’t care enough to actually look into how the comic business works so they hear “we sold five million comics” and think that’s actually customers, not comic shops with stacks upon stacks of Marvel stuff about to hit the quarter bin
>>151776227He spent too long on the same arc. On the other hand it has cute art of Cass
>>151774615>classic line up of Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, Beast Boy and TroyWhat happened to Wally and Aqua Lad?
>>151778049Wally actually made something of himself and Garth is gay now.
>>151778109>we have nothing to do with this character how do we make him interesting?>make him gay
>>151778168>>151778109DC chickened out of making Garth gay. It was hinted by a solicit, but in the actual comic it was just a pun.
>>151777277>Marvel isn’t really run on long term thinkingThey been doing it for about a decade and they’re still #1
They just gotta kill the franchise at this point
>>151774615Oh boy can't wait for the inevitable Judas Contract 2.0 where they're all shocked Terra betrays them again
Idk. Dc has pumped it some really great stuff in the past 4 years and I'm not even counting the Absolute lines. Nightwing, DC vs Vampires are good and so at is some of the JL stuff. Even the art has stepped up
>>151779089DC has been trying to kill the Titans for decades, so I'm sure they are trying as hard as they can.
>>151776829Wouldn't be surprised if DC's numbers shows they have diminishing returns on some of their relaunches since new 52 or at least the numbers just go exactly back to how they were from the last volume, making all the advertising they have to do with each relaunch too much of a money waster. But also what >>151776983 said.Though I will say I am surprised they haven't at least relaunched Catwoman or Nightwing yet. The former is one of the lowest selling Batfamily titles and the latter is the longest running volume at DC alongside Tec and Action.
>>151774615Other than Ryan North on Flash, Superboy Prime coming back, and Denys Cowan on Nightwing most of the new stuff for established books was underwhelming.Kyle looks ugly as hell, Guy's shit is whatever, these new Titans members are ass, Aquaman going cosmic is dumb, Cass getting blood powers is dumb, and King continues to terrorize WW fans.
>>151774615>Terra and StephCool.>Yara and JonNevermind, it's shit.Very smart to use two fucking characters no one fucking likes.
