>WAKE UP IN THE MORNING FEELING LIKE P DIDDY
>>
y'know kind of a shame, it looks fine visually
>>
>>151777107
it.... actually does. what the fuck, why aren't the animals all hideous picasso abominations? it's a current day CGI cartoon.

imagine working that hard on the art of a movie that takes one of the greatest political allegories and gives it the 'Maleficent' treatment.

a sore rectum and smelling of johnsons baby oil?

So is this the latest attempt to teach the kiddies that socialism is bad?
>>
>>151777222
They should just learn it in school. At least some of the broad strokes of such things.

>THIS SUMMER
>>
>>151777222
Uh.. Anon? 'latest' implies there have been others..
No, this is taking a classic 'rebellious commie liberation always leads to fascism' story and deciding to make it about how money bad.
While still hoping to make millions of dollars on the film..
>>
>>151777222
If your government has a bunch of tax-funded programs that give money to the 'poor' and 'needy' then you live in a socialist country. The United States, for example, is a socialist country.
>>
>>151776382
So is the point of this movie to say communism isn’t anything to be afraid of?

political grotesques abound irl

if you make a grotesque cartoon about politics, you'll just get sued for defamation

'billionaires' are just outsourced capital

What are the chances of it having the pigs becoming indistinguishable from humans scene?

>that socialism is bad?
Farm animals are deceived in every way: first they are killed, then exploited and killed. In this book, only smart animals survive, like the dogs that worked for Napoleon, or those who noticed something.
>>
>>151779718
What's your point?
>>
>>151777222
Nope. It actually re-writes the story to say capitalism is bad, with an Elon Musk analogue.

>So is this the latest attempt to teach the kiddies that socialism is bad?
>>
>Starts off as kitschy, musical trash ride with pop culture references and faux sentimentality
>Slowly degenerates into brutal, stark realism until the ending more closely resembles a banned Soviet-era cartoon
>Manages to simultaneously critique communist authoritarianism and vapid capitalist consumerism
Would be kino.
>>
Heard Chris P. Bacon is staring in this.

Zero.

Execs would never allow the full meaning of Animal Farm be extolled to the youth. This is gonna end with some soft half assed, no toothed message where the bad pig realizes the error of his ways and the horse doesn't get glued.

Speaking of getting glued, I suppose the way to play both sides would be to keep the bad pig bad and have the climax be a rescue where the pig gets switched at the last second for the horse. Then la la la Animal Farm is saved, all you have to do is kill your oppressors
>>
>>151777222
I can't speak for this particular adaptation, but you know Animal Farm was written by a staunch socialist, right? It's a critique of Stalinism, borne from Orwell's experiences of having the socialist movement taken over by authoritarians during the Spanish Civil War.
>>
>>151780199
Its also impossible for someone like seth rogan
>>
>>151780509
Took way too long for someone to post this. Also Orwell worked for the BBC in India. He got the idea for doublespeak and memory holes working there.
>>
>>151780005
Isn't that already what happens when Napoleon puts on clothes and drives a cybercar?
>>
>>151780199
The reviews from Annecy say the tone is consistently like this.
>>
>>151780509
Orwell was too indoctrinated to understand that all socialism turned into Stalinism.
>>
>>151776382
Think there'll be any furry art from this?
>>
>>151778129
Well I mean it's clear now that communism was a complete failure so it's hard to be scared of it.
>>
>>151780862
That's the indoctrinated opinion though. That's like saying all capitalism leads to Somalia.
>>
>>151776382
Relatable
