Just watched Santa's Workshop by Disney, which many call one of the greatest animated shorts. So yeah, this is a short that indeed exists.I just have no words for this. It never grabbed my attention, has no plot and I felt absolutely nothing during it. It´s a quick watch tough. The animation looks fine here. Personally, I find it unsettling how everything looks and the animation style is not appealing to me. It´s also just a lot of repeating frames, which is not good for a 7-minute short. I think 2D always has charm to it, but here it feels a bit lifeless, like with a lot of older animation. In a way it's a good expression of how far animation has come with shows like Amphibia or Steven Universe. There is no plot here. It´s just look at these things, the end. Here´s Santa and some elves making toys, here are the toys, bye. Again, another point to how far animation has come to tell deep stories, like with Fionna and the Cake. The humor isn't really for me. Checked paint is a good gag though. Aside from that, a loooooooot of lowkey outright racist caricatures... Yikes.Yeah, there isn't much to say or comment on here. It´s a short that exists and I don't really think it´s worth a watch. I was just sitting there, starring at the screen, felt nothing and shrugged it off. A numbing experience, but a valuable one, as it tells us how far animation has come these days. An average episode of Owl House is worth more than this, but still valuable to tell us how much better we have it - and no racism in sight over there!
>>151784917It's a pretty fun short, but who considers it among the bests? When you think of Silly Symphonies or Disney shorts, this isn't the first one I think of. It's not even like the 20th one I think of. That may sound like I'm trying to dismiss it, but no, it's really because the competition is tough.
