I just got done watching the new SpngeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants.
It started of good with creative visuals, good gags, a heartwarming story and of course nostalgia bait.
But hings started to take a wild turn in the third act. At that point it felt like i was watching a made for TV movie but oddly enough i think that was intentional.
The big climax really was something only modern day Nickelodeon would do and if it works depends on who you ask.
The montage in the second act is also pretty wild, enough to point it out, felt like the writers knew how ridiculous they wee making the movie and just rolled with it.
As for the characters, SpongeBob and Patrick had me concerned at first but they got better as the movie went on, Mr. Krabs and The Flying Dutchman really were at their best here and i am also disappointed by how Squidward and Gary were handled.
They also gave the Dutchman a new sidekick and she was fun to watch.
And while i don't agree with the practice of replacing established voice actors in big movies for star power i will say that Mark Hamill did an amazing job of playing the Dutchman, the most sinister and freaky the characters has ever sounded and it fits for his role in the story being more of a big shot villain then he was in the show, until he wasn't...
There's also the moment that kicks off the third act that makes me understand more why Brian Doyle-Murray was replaced, but i also feel like it's not a good excuse.
Will it make its money back? The movie was made on the budget of only $64mil so yeah, no matter what it'll make a profit.
Overall i give it a good 7/10, maybe a 6/10 at its worst moments. Honestly i say that the TMNT Christmas short shown before the movie is better than the actual movie itself and worth the price alone with the score i give that being a solid 9/10.
So to those who also watched the movie, what are your thoughts on it? And to those who haven't, what questions do you have about the movie?

I'm assuming Sandy was reduced to cameos.
>>
>>151786955
Three cameos in the beginning, middle and end.
Ms. Puff also has a non speaking cameo in the ending.

how much is ice spice in the movie

Why?
>>
>>151786904
How much are they paying you to shill the movie?

>but I also feel like it's not a good excuse.
What excuse is that? (In my view they want to replace Brian with someone younger so they don't have to "retire" The Flying Dutchman like they had to do with pic related)

I had to look her up. I knew that fish was a celebrity guest when i heard her voice but i didn't know who.
But to answer you question, she has a few lines of dialog and her screen time is less than ten seconds.

Why not.

I just genuinely think it's a good movie. Not as good as the first or the second. I never seen the third so i can't comment on that. And like i said the TMNT short is better and i gave the movie a 7/10 at best, 6/10 at worst.

During the third act The Flying Dutchman turns into a human again, a live action human played by Mark Hamill so they must have gotten a new actor who can do certain stunts that i assume Brian was too old to do. I say it's not a good excuse due to the stunts not being that difficult for even an 80 year old and they could have easily hired a stunt double.

They probably thought Mark looked "piratey" enough with his beard and does The Flying Dutchman stay human? (stupid question I know)

camrip?

He doesn't.
>>151788656
None.

I heard there's some kind of cutaway meta joke with the Realistic Fish-Head, talking about not including certain characters in the movie? Which characters are in that part (Sandy, Mrs Puff etc.)?
>>

Any butt crack or heart shape on her butt?

Hardly matters in the long run.
Spongebob's cultural impact overall Burns the Avatar Franchise to Fire and Ash.

A bit of an overreaction in my opinion. It certainly wasn’t worse than the Sandy movie.
