When will the world acknowledge that Warhammer copied from so many sources, including 2000AD?
Will it take some e-celeb?

>the Emperor’s backstory being a ripoff of Tarzan
??????
What the hell happens in those Tarzan books?

Other than that bitch and cry some more lol
>>
I met one of the Games Workshop guys in a con in Dublin in the 90s, I mentioned that Dark Horse comics had put out an aliens comic that had marines in bulky armor that made them look like Space Marines and he was like "well we've ripped off so much stuff we can't exactly complain lol"

these are the drop pods Dave Gibbons designed for Rogue Trooper, they're single-man pods with windows and not particularly like any version of the GW pod (they're more like Heinlein's drop pods from Starship Troopers, which significantly pre-dates Rogue Trooper)

the Judges from Judge Dredd don't particularly look like the Arbites from 40k, unless you're unfamiliar with the concept of police states and again, Judge Dredd's name itself is taken from a white British reggae/ska artist just because Pat Mills thought it sounded cool so, I don't know, i guess go fuck yourself

Nemesis the Warlock is like babby's first post-Star Wars space opera idk what to tell you there; the Terminators of Nemesis look nothing like the Terminators of 40k

Joe Pineapples wears lingerie and is a robot sniper, he looks nothing like the Vindicare unless you're blind

did you know Commissars were an actual thing in ww2?

did you know gas masked soldiers were an actual thing in ww1?

are you seriously suggesting that Granbretan has anything in common with 40k or that life support for elderly tyrants is a new concept?

since you clearly didn't understand Granbretan are you really expecting me to believe that you read all the Elric books and all the Malus books?

it's a compass rose, representing the eight winds of magic (from WHFB); Moorcock's version was already in widespread cultural use by the time of its adoption in various RPG systems (including D&D); Moorcock doesn't care

Arioch was lifted from Paradise Lost you fucking illiterate

the culture and use of Cynosure is very different to the culture and use of Commorragh, but in any case it's wildly unlikely anybody ever ready Grimjack outside the US; it wasn't even scanned in the 1990s, and nobody in the UK was reading random import comics

again if you think brits in the mid 1980s were reading Phil Folgio's comics you're going to have to give an issue citation and date your claim b/c that is wildly stupid otherwise

cherubs, really? really? REALLY?

Lone Sloane is awful but did you really think 40k ripped it off and not Pat Mills?

the emperor's human design of being a human? Tarzan is immortal in what book? is that supposed to be a fucking mangled Farmer reference?

Nobody cares cause it's cool and became its own thing. Star Wars ripped off an old samurai movie and nobody cares. A hundred Japanese IPs ripped off the mask from Phantom of the Paradise and nobody cares.
>>
>>151788846
Why do you act like that's some kind of big secret?
>>
It's very normal for things to have a lot of influence and borrow ideas and concepts frequently. This has happened all through history and is how creativity works.
The harder question is if WH40k uses these ideas well or not, which I can't attest to because I'm not a nerd.

This is just kind of how art works? Hell, even science and engineering. No work is 100% original - shoulders of giants, great artists steal, etc. Do you think every ancient myth, legendary hero, fantasy race, were each made up by a single guy and preserved unchanged to the modern day? I'm all for people getting credit and pay for their work, but at some point in time or amount of difference, you have to stop claiming ownership over an entire concept.
