Diamond Distribution, who owned FCBD, went bankrupt. Another company bought the rights to FCBD but Penguin Publishing created their own rival event called Comics Giveaway Day

No clue. Haven't talked to any of my LCS about it but we'll see how it shapes up closer to the day I guess. Even last year I know some shops didn't carry every title for FCBD due to Diamond issues.
