I'm planning on running pic related with some friends, and would like some recommendations on any mercenary Marvel characters that would be fun to throw in, as well as any comics I should read of them to get a grasp on their characters.
>>
Also what the fuck is wrong with the new Capcha system. Had to go to my fucking phone to even do this

At least it's not trying to match pictures

Does Superior Foes count?
>>

Maybe a few of them. Not all

isn't this just a glorified war minatures game? When i read the rules on release pretty much everything that wasn't combat was just "lol GM makes it up as you go". Also i remember this game more or less pushing you to play as established characters more then actually making your own

Batroc. He has a number of solid stories, but I recommend his Unbelievable Gwenpool characterization.
Taskmaster. Avengers The Initiative has him hired by the US government to train superhero recruits. I think that's a good example of how he's in it purely for the money and not just a typical supervillain.
Dakota North is a normal human private investigator in the Marvel Universe, could be fun as a bit deeper reference. She had a self titled five issue miniseries.
Silver Sable and the Wild Pack, though I've not really read anything with them to recommend.
Dominic Fortune is another one I've only read a couple guest appearances of and can't point you to a particular story.

Shocker has done merc work before, along with Superior Foes I'll recommend Deadly Foes of Spider-Man to see him dealing with his Punisher related PTSD.

Yeah, I remember looking into it and deciding it wasn't worth swapping from Masks.

Want to bring up one more thing to ask the thread. Madripoor is also brought up as a setting in this module. Any story recommendations to get a feel for the setting?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Good suggestions, here's some more:
Crossbones
Bullseye
The Serpent Society
The original Sinister Syndicate (original Beetle, Boomerang, Rhino, Hydro-Man and Speed Demon) did merc work as a group and individually
Beetle also worked with original Whiplash (aka Blacklash) and the second Blizzard as a merc team in some 80s and 90s Iron Man stories.
Jack O'Lantern (most iterations except the Mad Jack version)
Hobgoblin (the Jason Macendale or Phil Urich versions)
Trapster went through a merc phase in late 80s Spider-Man
The Seekers were a team of armored mercs who appeared in various titles in the 80s and early 90s.

If you're setting things back in the past you can also use Cable's old merc team, the Six Pack.
