Would you say Powerpuff Girls was a ripoff of Dexter's Laboratory? A lot of boys watched it, but we're afraid to admit they liked it because it was a "girls show", but it never felt like a girls show to me. It felt like basically the same show as Dexter's Lab, with the same art style, same style of humor, and it even had a scientist as one of its notable characters
>>151811297Yeah I'd say that if I were completely insane and had never seen either of these shows while taking your gross over-simplification as gospel.
>>151811297Why are you a retarded autist?
>>151811310>>151811308They both had the same art style and had the same style of fight scenes. Dexter's Lab did the really quick, comical fight scene thing before Powerpuff. The only reason Powerpuff even got greenlit was because Dexter's Lab was so successful for Cartoon Network. Also, pretty much everyone who liked Powerpuff Girls also liked Dexter's Laboratory. I don't even know anyone who PREFERRED Dexter's Lab to Powerpuff and no I'm not counting those who were afraid to admit they liked Powerpuff because they secretly loved it more than they did Dexter's Lab. Both were loved, but when Powerpuff came out, it blew Dexter out of the water in popularity and merch sales and Dexter was very popular so that's saying a lot

>>151811297You are completely retarded.>>151811352Gee, maybe it's because CRAIG WORKED ON DEXTER BEFORE GETTING HIS OWN SHOW, YOU IDIOT.
>>151811297Dexter's Laboratory is more comedy and slice of life focused with the story is just the settingThe Powerpuff Girls is more action and story focused with some funny moments here and thereWhile both are similar in some ways they both serve different purposes
>>151811297>Would you say Powerpuff Girls was a ripoff of Dexter's Laboratory? Are you retarded? Or running on insane troll logic? The only thing this and Dexter's Lab have in common is that it had Gennedy and Craig working on them.So what that they have the same artstyle? They are literally two different shows and with different themes. That is all. One is a show about a boy genius and whatever shenanigans is doing or has to deal with during everyday life while the other is about three artificially created superhuman girls who have to deal with stuff both mundane and out of this world (and beyond reality).
>>151811297>Would you say Powerpuff Girls was a ripoff of Dexter's Laboratory? No, not in the slightest.> It felt like basically the same show as Dexter's Lab, with the same art style, same style of humor, and it even had a scientist as one of its notable charactersYou're the only one who thinks any of this.
How many of you are little zoomies or younger? "Unc" Millennial here was there and remembers how it all went down. Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab came out at about the same time. Their pilots were aired side-by-side (among others) on Space Ghost Coast-To-Coast and the Powerpuff Girls won getting aired first because Craig McCracken won the swimsuit competition (Every other animator refused to put on a swimsuit). I was in 4th grade when it all went down and the Powerpuff Girls was never perceived as being a "girl's show" and I wouldn't call it a rip-off since Genndy Tartakovsky worked on both cartoons.
