Universal Basic Guys is the only new animated show tonight. The other new show is FOX animated previews.

fox has some shitty new shows

I don't understand how people hate on this show so much. its by far the funniest show on FOX right now and its got its own voice. I guess if you (somehow) like Great North then maybe UBG isn't your cup of tea.

i don't hate this show, 5/10 is average and i thought it was a little subaverage. i think season 2 is a big improvement and the show's finding its groove, this just isn't one of the standout episodes.

I decided to watch a few episodes, and its not that bad. The art style is just awful though and made me initially write it off as trash, and sometimes the mix of generic sitcom plots and dips into far out or outrageous plot points is too jarring.

What would you do with that money?

3/10, but I guess anything would be a letdown compared to last week's episode.

- Sportshit
- Gonna rain for Christmas
- Holiday feel good stories, now featuring more gays

Never trust an animated show that uses a bunch still images for the opening.

UBG needs the rest of the lineup to shine but it's okay in its own
>News
Ha, I got some shitty infomercial preview schlock i immediately turned the TV off for, this whole time I've been wrapping Christmas presents.
that is my mom and sis did all the work, I just handed them tape, I suck at wrapping

Utterly hilarious how with the title 'Universal Basic Guys' this show has forced itself into this awkward corner where at first glance it offends both conservatives for thinking it's teaching people to become more dependent on government handouts AND progressives for thinking it's making fun of UBI due to Mark's being such a nincompoop.

Bravo to everyone involved in getting this through development and onto TV screens without ever once considering an alternate title

*Udderly hilarious

Isn't it also the case that Mark isn't actually getting UBI? He's just getting some severance from a company or something. I don't know what they were thinking with the title.

That's definitely always stood out to me about the show, but the opening theme is so damn catchy and pairs well with the still images for me to rag on it too hard.

Some added context might help, though: UBG was designed to be as streamlined and easy for production as possible. IIRC lot of the show's stylistic choices carried over from the creators' days making sports-themed web cartoons with a much smaller team and budget: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM0IB-1xJ8s

Those experiences informed what they felt would make for a less stressful and more manageable workload for the Australian studio they now outsource to.
