It's up

Are Pokemon Card Scalpers really that bad?
Is it really such a lucrative business?
>>
Well the first and last set I saw them getting trolleys full of was destined rivals (Mid 2025) and now those are priced at double or even triple within 6 months

>Are Pokemon Card Scalpers really that bad?
Yes, because the next generation will have no real attachment to the cards and so they'll become worthless. Same thing happened with MTG and comics.

Sure, there's still some legacy hype around the most valuable items, but no one gives a shit about the "mythic rares" lol.

>Is it really such a lucrative business?
LMAO no. The incentive is 99% nostalgia and 1% profit.
>>
His cartoons are identical, no wonder he has no traction anymore. Once you've seen one, you've seen them all. They used to be better back in the 25 cents era. Now it's just cringe or try hard le serious.

>>
>>151819607
>Are Pokemon Card Scalpers really that bad?
Imagine doing everything you could think of to stalk toy isles and buy out any trading card boxes there just so you can open them, do nothing with most of the cards and then perpetuate the idea that the horribly inflated prices for the rare ones are totally legit and something everyone should be getting into as an investment. Every scalper should have their nails pulled.

He cant really do anything else, his said so himself how frustrating it is that these shitty animations is all people want from him.
>>
>>151819607
>Are Pokemon Card Scalpers really that bad?
/tg/ here. Yes.
>Is it really such a lucrative business?
Lmao no. Most of these fags are left bagholding mountains of cards. A few get lucky, but most of them are no different than funkopop collectors who are stuck in an endless cycle of wasting any profits they do actually make to buy more cards, which inevitably leaves them with less money than they started with, and far less money than if they just worked a normal job.
>>
Total scalper death.
>>
>>151819731
I don't know what that means.
>>
>>151819729
People over 20 have legitimate problems with those people. When you get out of high school you'll start developing your own things you hate.

He made an entire live-action horror short film full of ILM-tier practical effects. Let me guess, you want more?

What about those kids and those TikTok dances?
>>
>be adult
>take card games away from kids and turn it into a money making operation for adults
>take children's cartoons away from kids and turn them all into virtual therapy sessions for adults
>bully kids out of Disneyland
>generally just make the world uninhabitable for kids, leaving them with with nothing besides youtube and roblox...
>....where they get groomed by adults
>"LOL kids aren't into anything cool nowadays and are all so mentally ill haha durrrr siz seveeeeen hahaha stupid little fucks"
Adults suck.

Sounds like the way they could be loved is to turn around and hand out all the meta non-rare cards like trainer cards and low-tier rares to kids in the audience and encouraging them to play the game. All it takes is understanding what’s choking out the ambition to play the game.
>>

It's just reactslop for twitch streamers and slop watchers in general. He's much less relevant than he used to be.

>pokemon card scalpers really bad?
Yes holy shit yes, they are non rich greed incarnates who screw over not only fans but kids who enjoy want enjoy their funny animals.
>>151819729
I don't usually watch meatcanyon due to his kind of content. But knowing these kind of scalpers, i honestly can tell this video that i already agree and give some credit to the guy,

Retail worker here
>Are Pokemon Card Scalpers really that bad?
Really depends location to location. My store never had fights break out between guest, but another of our store in the same state did. It's just a bunch of 20 somethings and older, coming in every Thursday or weekends, asking the same shit over and over. Even when limiting how much someone can buy, they just come back in an hour later and/or drag their girlfriend or kids along to act as a separate purchase
>Is it really such a lucrative business?
Like others have said, no, a few get lucky, but most are stuck with just a bunch of cardboard, hoping to get that ONE card in a pack that MIGHT be worth something. What grinds my gears the most is when I have to tell kids and their parents that little Timmy wont get to buy his own pack. No joke, had to tell a little dude, on his birthday, we had nothing in stock because two days prior, a bunch of olders dudes cleaned house.
>>
>>151819607
When unboxing video's became popular opening card packs did too. You get both YouTube revenue and you can resell rare cards on ebay. Scalpers took it a step further and started buying all the cards at retail to inflate the price and force their profit. It got so bad Walmart and Target had to enforce limits on how many card packs a customer can buy at once.
>>
You can make ASTRONOMICAL amounts of money getting ahead of fads
Almost identical to how shitcoins work. The trick is knowing how to make sure there's a pyramid of copycat scalpers and rubes behind you, and the timing to make sure you're not left a bagholder yourself

Scalpers wouldn't pay top dollar to play second fiddle.

Let these degenerates suck up whatever is left of the life from the hobby, nothing lasts forever anyways. Most of us stopped collecting the cards before we started junior high.

>Are Pokemon Card Scalpers really that bad?
There are multiple video compilations out there of them fighting each other, knocking over people, and getting into arguments with children. Fuck them.

I just said they're slop views, getting millions of views on youtube isn't like it was years ago. Toddler slop gets hundreds of millions of views. Normie slop gets tens of millions of views.
He's still becoming irrelevant and his content keeps getting more lame.

NTA but that's just the way of things.

I do agree that his stuff may have lost traction and all, despite the views, in the sense that it may have gotten a bit repetitive and predictable for the most part, but like I said, that's just how it is for most entertainment (gaming, animation, skits, etc.) youtubers, I reckon.
It's difficult and tiresome to constantly come up with new ideas. Like someone else said, people create a sort of expectation towards the content creator, and many creators probably fear losing that starpower by going in a different path from what the audience expects.

For example, there are some gaming youtubers I watch that you can kinda see they no longer enjoy playing the same games and recording the same videos multiple times a week, but they probably see it as a job or a chore they need to do, since it's their careers and all.

This. Why don't people make something better if they hate meatcanyon so much?
>>
Does Jaime R exclusively work as second fiddle animator for MeatyCanyon now?
(any time a character's face goes all bulbous and the animation becomes weirdly fluid, that's him). I noticed a few other cases where indie animators I followed for years became nameless additions to some big-name youtuber's animation staff.
>>
>>151820699
To be fair, you can criticize something without needing to do better than the person or thing you are criticizing. You don't need to be a cook to say a food sucks or was poorly made, for example.

That being said, It ain't easy to come up with new content.
>>
>>151819910
dumb question but how to scalpers know the exact time an employee restocks the shelves?
>>
>>151820965
Dont asnwer this man. hes a scalper.

eh, in meatcanyon's case, it started out repetitive and predictable but the channel got better over time
I really like macabre melvin for example
but now it seems like he's fallen in a rut again

I cant imagine these pieces of shit actually like Pokemon or anything else they get their grubby little fingers on. They're in it for a quick buck and to ruin everyone elses day. Wish the corpos gave enough of a shit to do something about these walking trash piles but I guess as long as they get their money, they dont give a fuck.
>>
>>151819607
dunno, dont really care.
