What are your thoughts on Batman Beyond and by extension Terry Mcginnis?
>>151834937I don't remember anything about it but it had a kickass OP.
>>151834937It's fucking rules. Terry's cool. Rock N Roll McDonald's.
>>151834959https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFsvQNt2bIEIt's fucking incredible
>>151834937The guy from Fortnite?
>>151834937Terry is proof that Jason Todd was a viable character in the 80s.
It was cool, and a good example of how to do a passing of the torch story the right way. Right up until they reconned Terry into being Bruce's illegitimate syringe baby, that shit was beyond retarded.
I like most of his roguesI wish Neo Gotham was more fleshed outI'm not sure if I like the metal in the soundtrack but it's definitely part of the identity, not sure more "cyberpunk" music would actually be a better fit
>>151834937Ten was best girl. Everyone who disagrees can die mad and wrong.
>>151835251yeah, they made a whole cartoon to go with the new fortnite skin, pretty cool huh?
Only ever seen 2 episodes (the first ones)Conceptually I disagree with itThe Batman timeline is always sliding forward anyway, so a 'near future' Batman is a bit pointless
>>151834937Only good Batman cartoon.
>>151834973>Terry cool.Yeah he is.
>>151834937Well as a kid I loved it because it was batman like a sequel to the animated series and I was one of those kids who loved cartoons and watching tv and I was watching Justice League and Superman, Batman beyond felt righht as a sequel/spin off.Now as an adult I watched the entire series last year and I would say it's a soldi show, it has good messages for kids and teens, the action scenes are well animated and the villain rooster works so well for me and I love the Mentor Student dynamic, the cyberpunk scene is incredible and love the "legacy villain" stories, one of my favorite for themes and how the plot moves is the Venom/bane Episode, I mean a group of kids that want to win every sport game take a performance drug but to buy more they steal from their parents then move to petty crime, the coach see the venom but doesn't care and at the end watching what drug abuse can do to you is nice, for once I would say those "Prechy" messages were pretty concealed and created a good episode (there are better episode for other but this one was stuck in my mind together with the saga of Shriek). While to comment the movie the joker one is nice I remember watching it in tv but never rewatch it but from what I remember was kinda Meh, while the "movie sequel" it's kinda underwhelming ending for a good saga that didn't need to reveal that terry was a clone, for me it's not canon.
I liked it but I hated Maxine and I thought the show quickly started to focus too much on his high school. I wanted more Batman taking out corrupt corporations and government officials and dangerous technology.
>>151834937It's biggest assestvis the fact it hasn't been rebooted to the point of absurdity.
I somehow watched this before TAS so I have a soft spot for it. As a kid I had a huge crush on the gloop lady. But only the faceless form.

>>151834937It's fine, the episodes are too episodic for the most part, there isn't much of a through line connecting things like there is for Bruce and his rogues this isn't helped by killing many of them off at the end of the episode, there's far too little detective work and far too much action the show is very much a teen show. How much that matters is subjective .6/10 could've been better.
oh boy batman beyond thread I just love this show. don't forget the spin off zeta project
>>151837533For as cheap as the Zeta Project was, it did run with the slightly dystopian-suburb vibe a little more heavily.May have also featured DCAU The Flash's son/grandson/relative if Agent West, red-headed FBI agent was anything to go by.
Overrated in the real sense of the word
>>151834937I liked Bruce/BarbaraI did not like Barbara's black husband.
>>151834937Dimes. My favorite incarnation of Batman that sadly DC Comics just can’t translate well to the comic medium (outside of the tie-in stuff produced for the show).
>>151837602Is Project Zeta worth watching if I like the Neo Gotham settingDoes it have any vaguely interesting ideas
>>151834937It's terrible.
>>151834937It's ok
>>151837186>hating maxineur just a fag
>>151834937I loved this show so much as a kid and at times I actually liked it better than BTAS.Looking back, even though it's a bit "dated" to the Y2K Noir future aesthetic, Future Gotham didn't age badly for a 25 year old show, like say something like The Jetsons has.
I think it's funny how Terry is not as smart as Bruce. It's not that he's stupid, he's just not "Master of Criminology, Chemistry, Engineering, Mechanics, Escapology, ect" smart.
>>151834937Shockingly good, all things considered.
>>151835294The being related stuff is the worst part for me. As if you needed to be blood relatives with somebody cool to be a good superhero or notable in any way>>151838503I wish there were more comics with that sense of retro futurism the 90s had. That Y2K future aesthetic is something I've been searching for now that people who grew up during it are starting to become artists
>>151835536I agree, when I was a teenager I had a crush on her. But nowadays I rewatched her episode and didn't realize how loose she is with men.
>>151837181Same. All in all cartoons during that period were solid.I also ignore the stupid "Terry was a clone" episode
>>151834937Remake when?
>>151834937Really cool show, and terry's a good protag (nice blend of tim and jason), but it really only works as an AU and the JLU retcon was horrid and wrecks the character
>>151835272Wasnt made in the 80s desu, its early 2000s, very different eras. And terry's a composite of jason and tim desu.
