I liked it and it makes perfect sense. Hours ago she caused chaos and complaints from the Coronians due to her poor decision making so she didn't feel like she could make any good decisions by herself, then her parents got lost so she was in a state of shock and overwhelmed by both crisis. It makes perfect sense that the "annoying kid" visiting her with something pointless wouldn't even register to her and she felt to overwhelmed to order the guards to release him.
That was maybe my favorite episode in the entire series besides The Alchemist Returns as it shows that for all her skills, she is not perfect.
