>ruins the industry forever by popularizing sequel slop
>>151845976That's not Jaws 2
>>151845976Crazy how Disney went from pumping out 2D movies in the 90s and early 2000s to making fuck-all now. Why are they so allergic to 2D animation? They could keep making CG movies too.
>>1518475302d animators have too much leverage
>>151845976The TV series was great at least
>>151847530The Sultan had the 2d department sacked. Literally.
My idiot child brain could honestly not tell how badly the animation quality dipped from the original.
>>151847754Did you think it looked better or just as good?
>>1518475302D is free market. They want to seem more important
>>151845976I find it amusing that return of jaffar is so shit, but King of thieves is so freaking kino. It takes other stories from 1000 nights and it also ties to aladin as a character in a way that is interesting and let's him grow, furthermore, the humor is just as good as the original and the imagery/scenary is great. This might as well be the only sequel worth watching.>>151847754Same, lmao.>>151848437Mostly the same. But also because i didn't own the first one so i couldn't compare them thoroughly.

>>151847754I think I noticed, but I was mostly just happy to see more Alladin, since it was my favorite Disney Movie.
>>151845976Still a rockin' film so I really can't stay too mad at it
>>151845976It was a pilot for the TV series.
>>151845976Entirely carried by one great song.
>>151845976Popularizing? It would have to have been with something that was popular in the first place.
>>151847577I recently got depressed and watched all the Aladdin sequels for the first time. Even watched a couple episodes of the series. Compared to the theatric film, of course its a downgrade, but writing-wise you get some good character development, the plots are fun. Robin Williams came back for the third one, but Dan Castelanetta did a decent job in the second one also. I remember watching the series whenever i could and I remember why. I wish I saw the sequels when I was younger. Aladdin's a solid series, sequels and all. Compared to Cinderella, Mulan, or Pocahontas's shitty sequels that didn't know what to do with the characters. Aladdin's sequels feel like a series of events that take place over a year, its great.
