What do you think of the animated Discworld adaptations?https://youtu.be/JIgE23LHgPQ?si=3ggFEL84LqsqbbZwhttps://youtu.be/UYhbiCygCGQ?si=h_Sz9chMlPYLYNxi
I watched Wyrd sisters earlier this year and just recently finished the book. It's a really solid adaptation. Soul music adaptation was good but a bit boring. Death is one of the best characters in Discworld and Christopher Lee was the perfect choice. The issue with discworld adaptations is that so much of the jokes is in the writing itself, and something that can never properly fully adapted because it would take too much time and people's attention spans are already shit.
>>151847347FPBP. Discworld doesn't really work outside of text. Not that it's bad or poorly written, it just doesn't lend itself to adaptations. See: The Watch thing that Amazon did a few years back.

>>151847126I only just found out that there were more adaptations than just Colour of Magic, how is Hogfather? It's my 2nd favorite book in the series

It would be nice to see more animated adaptations. When I was a kid after reading Hat Full of Sky I fully lay on my bed imagining credits roll by. Might be cliche but I think something ghibli style would fit it well.
>>151847126my only criticism of soul music is...i needed WAY MORE of a heavy metal solo from death himself.

Soon we’ll have concurrent cartoon creation, where direction is all that is needed to make uncensored full length true to story cartoons.Soon. The turtle moves! Also, listen to the science of discord books. There’s like, 5 of them.
Why wasn't this completed?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0yBmz4JXxw
Right, so if we ignore that the movie/TV adaptations are mostly unrelated, the order in which they were adapted is:>Book 16>Book 6>Book 20>Book 1>Book 2>Book 33>Some loose American style adaptation bullshit that bears the name of the series but ignores any actual stories in the series>Book 28I know these books are mostly standalone and the plots are just meant to be silly satire rather than an epic narrative. But there is continuity and it's not always unimportant, the first of these adaptations is Soul Music and while Buddy's side of the story is entirely independent of other books and the University side of the story didn't depend much on already established ideas, Susan and Death's sides of the story aren't quite so independent. You kind of need to be familiar with Mort and Reaper Man to understand what the hell is going on with the metaphysical stuff, otherwise the ending of story and the importance of there being a personification of death becomes a bit confusing.
