Neil Gaiman bros, how do we separate art from the artist in this case? Especially when so much if his mature art was around women, their abuse and misogyny?

Gaiman is innocent.
BUT
He deserves to be falsely accused because of shit like this >>151861007

I have been fortunate in that Neil Gaiman was the first artist with a body of work I truly cherished to be outed as a creep, before that I had wondered how I'd react, frankly I find it incredibly easy to still like his old work while thinking he's a creep, there is no cognitive dissonance I just like the art as its own thing.

I have met a lot of normies that really liked that sandman show and barely care about the allegations, I think there are a lot of casual Dr. Who fans that still like his episodes, the art is largely not leaving public consciousness, people still love Coraline.

These niggas never learn

Why do these niggas never learn

honestly this is like love death and robots level

He's been writing since the 80s you used to just be able to do this shit and no one could jump on twitter and call you a rapist.

>>151861003
I think if the sex lives of all the people even remotely famous were made public they’d all be cancelled. This seems like something his ex-wife set into motion for divorce reasons that ended up backfiring on her.
>>
He wanted her to eat the poo...

>She took a very nicely lit sad selfie afterward

I don't get the whole separate the art from the artist argument. Just admit you like shit made by bad people and move on. Oh, you favorite show was made by a pedophile, so what? Watching it won't turn into one. If giving money away is a concern then just pirate.
>>
>>151861275
I can't remember if she ate it or not
>>
>>151861003
are those criminal suits or civil ones? kinda important to know.
>>
You don't in this case because he's a fucking hack and a lot of his personal monstrousness bleeds into his work.
>>
>>151861276
>If giving money away is a concern then just pirate.
I’ve seen people say this is still too much. Some anti-Rowlingers say talking about Harry Potter in public forums is too much since you’re keeping the product in the public conscious, thus promoting it, thus giving money to a woman who actively donates to anti tranny causes.
>>
>>151861353
Tbf no one but twitter faggots care what Rowling says on Twitter.

Protip: Anyone on social media making a show of how moral they are for rejecting work done by bad people is like 90% likely a bad person. Did you learn nothing from seeing this: >>151861007 and what happened to him after, because the principle still applies

Even young artists coming up right now will still fall into this trap, just wait. Some people are just controlled by their sex organs.

He said he didn't do it.

They always make the case that it's the traumatized damaged people who make the best art, but they always forget the part where maladjusts are going to act like maladjusts.
Granted Gaiman is a bit of a hack in that regard who partially got where he was by pretending he was bestest friends with any writer he ever worked with and often aping credit on every collaboration he did with them.
>>
>>151861003
>how do we separate art from the artist in this case?
I don't give 1 fuck about the personal lives of creators. I barely care to hear about their thoughts on their creations.
>Especially when so much if his mature art was around women, their abuse and misogyny?
By not giving a fuck about the artist. Twitter was a mistake. Log off the internet.
Gaiman hasn't written anything good in ages. Why would you care about what happens to him now?

>human trafficking

Okay, shit, this is actually kind of a big deal, because that's an interstate crime and that means federal charges. I'm with >>151861331 , I want to know if these are merely civil charges or criminal ones.
>>
>>151863356
>federal
>multi state
These are probably the civil charges.

New Zealand didn’t want to deal with a criminal case because it lacked evidence. It was brought to America on civil charges because of a lower burden of proof, and also money.

Last I saw, Wisconsin dismissed the case because why THE FUCK would a Wisconsin court handle a rape allegation involving two British people that occurred in New Zealand.

>Scarlett Pavlovich, a New Zealand citizen currently studying in the United Kingdom, filed the suit in January 2025 in the US… Neil Gaiman, a British citizen with permanent residency in both New Zealand and the USA, denies the allegations. In his motion to dismiss, Gaiman's lawyer argued the case did not belong in the USA, as all events happened in New Zealand, where both parties resided at the time. Judge Peterson concurred, noting Wisconsin's sole connection is Gaiman's current residence in Menomonie.

>Separate art from the artist
Don't. Acknowledge the uncomfortable fact that horrible people can, and frequently do, make good art.
>>
>>151863769
This. I like Burzum, but Varg is a huge piece of shit. I like his music, but hate the man.
>>
Pretty much this >>151861053
Still, I hope the greedy bitch who wants to cash out get's nothing. Gaiman's a PoS, but sluts need to be smacked down much more frequently so dumb broads can't just make themselves rich by refusing to accept the consequences of their actions.
>>
>>151861085
I remember when I took the first few Sandman trades out of the library and was very disturbed by them (in a cool way, like watching a your first slasher film or listening to gangster rap).

This is why I was very confused that he he seemed like such a normie who also wrote kids books and was beloved by women.

It actually makes more sense that a freak wrote the issues where Dr. Destiny makes all those people kill each other in a diner, or the Serial Killer Convention.
>>
>>151861003
I don't care because like most people outed for being a piece of shit I never liked his art in the first place. Turns out only decent people with the moral core of an actual civilized human being can make art (one of the indicators of advanced civilization), go figure
