imagine meeting a random dude on the street and he tells you he is your long lost father.
Sure, you would be happy about it, have a nice moment togheter, but if you are an adult already, the interaction will be a bit odd since you are already building your life.
Best case scenario is that both sides agree on meeting each other time to time to form a bond.
The one person that gained the most from this interaction was clearly mister Hyunh, since he could at least confirm his daugther is alive, well, healthy, and can ask her how things are to confirm if she is a stable woman

Am I the only one who thinks its a little absurd they lean way too dip into make Arnold a sort of Jesus figure? This town see's Arnold as more then a regular kid that kid has conversational skills and personal connections you'd only ever see in video games that gave you multiple choice questions and Arnold's charisma stat was a perfect 10 so got the best outcome each time.
