What did we think of it?

Loved what I read of it.
My favorite story is then the Jack-in-the-Box is visited by his potential future sons and one of them interprets a quip as an ultimatum and way of life.
>Just so you know, this means war!
>I WAS QUOTING BUGS BUNNY
It's a wonderful anthology that tackles introspective struggles over external crisis.

I started reading this and like it so far. It's a nice response to the cynical and edgy turn in capeshit in the 80s and early 90s. Recently read the arc about The Confessor and his sidekick who keeps questioning why he does good deeds against his own nature and despite public opinion shitting on them.

Easily one of the best comics out there. Personally though I'm not a fan of whatever is going on with the Broken Man. If he was just a weird MC guy who existed as an excuse to introduce different stories he'd be fine, but whatever kind of plot Busiek is spinning with it hasn't really paid off yet and I'm not all that confident anymore that it will be worth it in the end if we ever get one.

How about an impromptu storytime? This is the first chapter which came out in 1995.

Here's our Superman homage.

My favorite story (from the Local Heroes volume) is the spin on the Silver Age "Lois Lane tries to prove Clark is Superman" story. The framing device with her daughter is really touching and a nice way to make the case that the silly Silver Age women characters aren't necessarily less "strong" than the modern stoic badass women.

Was Dark Age the best arc?
