Any guesses as to why Rianda isn't directing or even writing the sequel? Last I heard he doesn't have any other big projects lined up, and I can't see him passing on staying involved with a franchise so near and dear to his heart and so heavily inspired by his own upbringing, especially since I remember him championing for a sequel back when the original film first released and was doing well on Netflix.
