A lot of what is killing DA autism is simply the online autism meta is changing. There's a level of autism that surpasses cringy or awkward and goes into "This person's brain is on a different fucking planet to the point they can't function in society". And these were genuinely autists who made all the weird photoshops, MS Paint drawings, and Pooh's adventures which were full of jokes people don't get, Pooh's Adventures, or having cartoon characters in a 9/11 memorial or whatever.
Typically locked in their houses, when the internet was taking off, they tended to dominate it and in hindsight? It was kinda cool. Like, we had to all step into their world for a change and no amount of flaming or lecturing could stop them.
The meta's changed though because now you have

>streaming means they're now bombarded with content and don't have that time between shows where they go to their desktops.

They have a niche on youtube but a lot of them have moved to Facebook and stuff where their parents or handlers can sorta watch them better. Even going to like, Tumblr or reddit often results in trolls and moral crusaders bringing hammers down on them.
Another issue is the normie-fication/commercialization of the internet. Normies talk a big game about "supporting" those with special needs but push comes to shove, do not like them in the public space. And one thing I highly suspect is that normies learned the forbidden knowledge that the "special" people have sex drives and don't know how to cope since treating the tards like they're kids is basically how they typically keep themselves from ostracizing them, especially when a lot of it is so fetishistic.
