Her husband was flagging down a taxi but the driver was distracted by Spider-Man fighting a villain. He would run the husband over and the wife would miscarry on the spot. Having lost everything in one day, the widow would bump into the symbiote and the two would work together to ruin Peter's life. This was scrapped because "a female villain wouldn't be threatening" but it was still far enough into production that Venom's hand is clearly a woman's when Peter is shoved onto the train tracks.
